Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has become infamous for her outrageous conspiracy theories, from Jewish space lasers to the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon being fake. Now, she is saying that bombs are being smuggled across the border, and then she gets fact-checked by Border Patrol.

In her tweet, the controversial Republican from Georgia stated that Border Patrol agents found an IED and confirmed it was from the cartels.

Raul Ortiz, chief of Customs and Border Patrol, stated that he testified before the Committee on Homeland Security and clarified that the object found by Border Patrol agents was not an explosive but a "duct-taped ball filled with sand that wasn't deemed a threat to agents/public."

According to The Independent, Greene replied to the tweet that fact-checked her and said, "several Border Patrol agents are saying it was some sort of IED and there is video surveillance and pictures of a man placing the device." She added that it was found in the area known as No Man's Land, which was allegedly controlled by the cartels, and said she only tweeted about it because she was concerned for the border agents.

Greene, an infamous anti-immigration hard-liner known for her anti-Hispanic rhetoric, did not back down on her claims despite not presenting any actual evidence to back them up, as she did not clarify her sources.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's Silicone Valley Bank Claims Also Fact-Checked

Marjorie Taylor Greene also has a take on the collapse of Silicone Valley Bank, which she says collapsed because of its commitment to 100% carbon-neutral operations by 2025, as well as investing $5 billion by 2027 to help clients build sustainable businesses.

Other Republicans, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Rep. James Comer (Ky.), Sen. Josh Hawley (Mo.), and Rep. Ronny Jackson (Texas), also blamed what they called "woke" investments and diversity, equity, and inclusion policies at the banks for the collapse, with DeSantis even speculating on Fox News that these initiatives "really diverted from them focusing on their core mission."

However, Forbes Magazine pointed out that there is no actual evidence that such investments were the reason the bank failed and had to be taken over by the federal government. Experts have instead noted that the SVB collapse may have been caused by a hike in interest rates, which hurt the value of the bank's long-term U.S. Treasury bonds.

Experts have noted that this caused many of SVB's clients in the tech industry to withdraw deposits because of "scarce venture capital funding."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Organizing House GOP Trip to Visit January 6 Defendants

Another of Greene's many notable debunked theories that she is still pushing is Trump's Big Lie and that those jailed for January 6 are all innocent. She previously toured a jail where some of the rioters were held, and now she is planning to schedule a trip for members of Congress to visit these rioters, many of whom have already been convicted of serious crimes.

The Hill noted that she is working with House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, a Kentucky Republican, with the schedule of their tour being expected to be released on Thursday.

"We're going to be addressing the human rights abuse, such as the fact that they've been held in solitary confinement up to 23 hours a day, denied the ability to see their families," Greene said

She also praised Tucker Carlson's airing of cherry-picked footage from January 6 that showed a more "peaceful" side to the riot, which resulted in several deaths, as well as dozens of officers being injured after being attacked by the pro-Trump mob chanting "Hang Mike Pence!"
