Mexican fast food chains are typically not just Mexican dishes like tacos or burritos, but surprisingly, there are also more American choices like burgers and hot wings. 

While some of these chain restaurants can be found all over Mexico, others have already spread internationally, making waves in the United States and other parts of the Americas.

Chipotle and Taco Bell do not count as Mexican fast food chains as they are American brands and not from Mexico.

According to La Vivienda, no Taco Bell restaurants exist in Mexico as the chain could not compete with authentic Mexican cuisine. So, here are five Mexican fast food chains that are reportedly the best.

Pollo Feliz

While KFC has invaded Mexico, the Mexican chicken restaurant chain, Pollo Feliz, has also invaded America. The restaurant opened in 1975 and has become one of Sinaloa state's most well-known companies, offering tasty and juicy grilled chicken.

The brand has been known as the most recognized grilled chicken brand in Mexico, with over 500 stores all over the country. According to its official website, it also has stores in the United States, including Chicago, Illinois, and Houston, Texas. The chain also has three locations in Tucson, Arizona.

La Casa de Toño

La Casa de Toño is considered one of Mexico's best go-to chains for a more casual sit-down type of family restaurant. Unlike Pollo Feliz, it can only be found in a few big Mexican cities, but they have some very fine offerings.

These include their famous cochinita tacos and their heavenly flan. According to the Eternal Expat, they also have the most delicious pozoles and are reasonably affordable.

El Pescadito

Want fish tacos for a low price? El Pescadito may be the Mexican chain for you, as it is widely known as the best fish taco chain in the country. 

Wing's Army

Another Mexican chain has spread into the United States, and this one offers up delicious hot wings. This chain spread not only throughout Mexico and the United States but also Panama.

Carlos 'N Charlie's

These sit-down family restaurants can be found in several cities in Mexico and have restaurants in Las Vegas and Florida. It offers casual dining with a Mexican menu, from tacos to enchiladas.
