The arrest of actor Jonathan Majors has had mixed reactions. He has recently been confirmed to return to Marvel's "Loki" season 2, but the U.S. Army is now planning new ads without him after being arrested over assault and domestic violence charges.

Following the post-credits scene at the end of "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," it was hinted that Majors' character, Kang the Conqueror, will return for "Loki" season 2, which will star Tom Hiddleston again and is due out later this year.

However, after Majors was arrested last Saturday, concerns over Kang's return surfaced, with many fans asking for the role to be re-cast. However, a new trade report confirmed that Majors' Kang character will return to "Loki" season 2, according to Comicbook.com.

The actor, who recently appeared in "Creed III," has maintained that he is innocent. A lawyer representing the Marvel villain actor said they are gathering evidence to exonerate her client, adding that the woman accusing him "was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital."

The lawyer noted that "the NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We expect these charges to be dropped soon."

U.S. Army Working on New Ads After Jonathan Majors Arrest

While Jonathan Majors may stay with Marvel for the foreseeable future, the same may not be said with the U.S. Army as they are now working to do some new recruiting ads to air during the NCAA's Final Four basketball games this weekend following the actor's arrest.

Army leaders had been excited to feature Majors in the ads, which are part of their new campaign to revive the service's struggling recruiting numbers, which fell far short of their last year's enlistment goal, according to the Associated Press.

The Army is trying to capitalize on the actor's popularity and is hoping that he could help them reach a younger audience.

However, the Army pulled these ads off the air last weekend as the actor faced charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment in New York.

Maj. Gen. Alex Fink, head of Army marketing, told the AP that in the past week, the Army prevented any loss of the planned $70 million advertising buy, either by postponing ads or replacing them with other pre-existing commercials that were immediately updated.

These ads were supposed not just to appear on television but also on social media, including Facebook and Twitter, as well as physical billboards and posters.

Jonathan Majors Arraigned Over Assault Charges

According to CNN, Jonathan Majors was arraigned on several assault and harassment charges last Sunday at the Manhattan DA's office.

The 30-year-old female accuser, who was not named in the complaint, said the actor struck her on the face with an open hand, and this caused "substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear."

The woman further noted that the actor "put his hand on her neck, causing bruising and substantial pain." However, Majors' Attorney Priya Chaudhry said there were "two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations."

He added that they are presenting evidence to the DA that includes "video footage from the vehicle where this episode took place, witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the episode,"

The lawyer noted that she expects the charges to be dropped soon.
