Former U.S. President Donald Trump's life is reportedly in danger and should seek safety in Russia, according to Russia's "Merchant of Death."

Viktor Bout, an international arms dealer, was in an interview on a Russian state TV channel and told a reporter he had sent a telegram to Trump with a warning that there is an "imminent threat" to his life.

Newsweek reported that Bout also urged Donald Trump to flee to Russia for safety.

The arms dealer suggested that the threat to Trump's life is not from an assassin or some unknown plot against him and would instead come from Trump's own government.

Bout warned that it would be the result of a Manhattan district attorney's probe of allegations that Trump falsified business records to hide a hush money payment to adult star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

Bout said that the legal process will not just end with Trump being convicted and barred from the election, adding that the former president will most likely "be eliminated there."

Russia's 'Merchant of Death' on Donald Trump Case

Bout argued that the Biden administration will not "stop just by dragging you through the court" or the prison industrial complex.

The Merchant of Death went on to say that the U.S. administration would "sooner end your life than let you stand in their way," according to South China Morning Post.

Bout told Trump he would find a safe haven for the former president and "from here you can lead the fight for the American people." He was reported to have expressed admiration for Trump.

Bout was accused of arming rebels in some of the world's largest conflicts and was arrested in Thailand in a U.S. operation in 2008. He was then extradited to the United States and sentenced in 2012.

He was freed from a U.S. jail just last year after he was swapped for the U.S. professional basketball player Brittney Griner in a highly watched prisoner exchange between Moscow and Washington in December.

Donald Trump Case in New York Court

The case revolved around Trump's hush money payments, which he made before the 2016 election, and was set in a legal process that is expected to run into 2024.

Donald Trump made an appearance before New York Judge Juan Merchan and pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records against him.

CBS News noted that the prosecution argued that the former president falsified business records illegally to conceal reimbursements to his former lawyer and "fixer" Michael Cohen, who paid Daniels $130,000 before the 2016 election.

The payment was supposedly made to silence Daniels about their alleged affair years earlier. Meanwhile, the former president denied having any sexual relationship with the adult film star and repeatedly claimed he did nothing wrong.

Aside from Daniels, a former Trump Tower doorman was also reportedly paid after claiming he had information about the child Trump fathered out of wedlock.

A Playboy model was also paid $150,000 after saying she had an affair with the former president.
