Donald Trump’s Claims About New York Court Employees ‘Crying’ Debunked by a Law Enforcement Source
Donald Trump made a claim about New York court employees during his arraignment in a Fox News interview with Tucker Carlson. The claim was quickly debunked by a law enforcement source.
Trump said during his interview with Carlson that New York court employees were crying when he was arraigned, which the law enforcement source described as "absolute BS," according to Independent.
The law enforcement was a Yahoo! News source, who said there was "zero" truth to the former president's story and described it as "absolute BS."
The source said that "there were zero people crying," adding that there were also "zero people" saying "I'm sorry."
The former president has been previously reported to issue unfounded claims and even blatant lies, particularly over the return of classified documents from his administration.
CNN reported that Trump claimed the Presidential Records Act prolonged negotiations over the return of the materials.
However, the Presidential Records Act states that the National Archives and Records Administration gets custody and control of all presidential records from all administrations the moment a president leaves office.
The law did not note that there should be a negotiation between the former president and National Archives over the return of the documents.

Donald Trump Claims New York Court Employees 'Crying'
The law enforcement source said that aside from Trump's lawyers and Secret Service agents, the former president only interacted with some of the district attorney employees at the courthouse, as reported by Yahoo! News.
In addition, the same source said that the former president had "extremely limited exposure" with others during the Donald Trump arraignment.
It was opposed to Trump's interview story with Carlson, saying that the employees were "actually crying," while saying "I'm sorry" and "2024, sir. 2024."
The source added that the only close interaction the former president had with New York court employees was when the district attorney employees provided lotion for Trump's fingers as his fingers were too dry for fingerprinting.
Carlson was earlier reported not to be too friendly with the former president behind closed doors.
In a text to one colleague dated January 4, 2021, Carlson said about Trump that he hates the former president "passionately."
Donald Trump Arraignment
The former president was charged with 34 felony counts, to which he plead not guilty. The case against him revolved around the hush money payment he allegedly made to adult film star Stormy Daniels, but the charges go beyond that.
Manhattan District Attorney's office accused the former president of "repeatedly and fraudulently" falsifying records to conceal "damaging information from the voting public," as cited by Al Jazeera.
Meanwhile, the New York judge, Juan Merchan, presiding over the case has reportedly received multiple threats after the historic arrest.
The Guardian noted that Merchan and his family received "dozens" of threats, with two sources familiar with the matter saying that the threats had come in the form of calls, emails, and letters.
It was similar to those recently directed toward Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg.
