King Charles Coronation: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Included in Official Palace Souvenirs
After the news about Prince Harry attending the most-awaited coronation of King Charles without his wife, Meghan Markle, it was confirmed that the Sussexes would be part of the official Palace souvenirs.
Daily Mail reported that King Charles included a photograph of Harry and Markle in the official Buckingham Palace souvenir program to accompany the coronation in an attempt to ease family conflict.
Royal photographer Chris Jackson took the private family portrait that marked the monarch's 70th birthday in 2018, with the setting in the Clarence House's gardens.
The photograph shows Charles with Prince George on his knees, Camilla cuddling Princess Charlotte, and Kate Middleton holding Prince Louis. On the other hand, Prince William stood next to Harry, who had his arm around his laughing wife.
It was reported that Prince Harry will attend his father's coronation without Markle, who will remain in California with her children, Archie and Lilibet.
Prince Harry Held 'Peace Talks' Before King Charles' Coronation
Prince Harry reportedly held "peace talks" with his father before the new monarch's coronation on May 6. The Duke of Sussex was confirmed to be attending the coronation.
A friend of Queen Camilla noted that the royal was left "hurt" over being labeled "the villain" by Harry in his memoir "Spare," which was released in January.
The duke claimed in the book that his stepmother leaked stories about the royal family to the media to improve her image to the public, according to The Independent.
An insider claimed that Camilla is the "yin" to Charles' "yang. Citing a Telegraph report, Hindustan Times reported that "positive conversations" were held between Harry and his father.
The report also noted that Harry also appeared to be reaching out to Charles about the possibility of a reconciliation. However, it did not involve his brother Prince William.
Aside from Harry, another royal family member seemed included in the reconciliation efforts. Sources claimed that Charles was using the coronation to "heal family divisions," including reconciling with his brother Prince Andrew.
King Charles Coronation
A new detail about the upcoming coronation includes the celebratory meal for the king's ascension. It was revealed that Charles and Camilla chose Coronation Quiche as their celebratory meal.
During his mother's coronation, the late queen chose Coronation Chicken for her celebratory recipe. Charles' and Camilla's coronation recipe is by royal head Mark Flanagan.
It consists of spinach, broad beans, and tarragon. Meanwhile, the sacred anointing of Charles will not be shown on television during the ceremony on May 6.
Palace sources confirmed to multiple outlets that the king will follow Queen Elizabeth II's footsteps by barring cameras from filming the moment that he will be anointed with holy oil by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Prince George will also be part of the ceremony, carrying a ceremonial sword as a traditional representation of him acting as a protector of the king.
