‘Donald Trump Groped Me on a Flight,’ Says Witness in Trump Rape Trial
Donald Trump's civil rape trial continues with more testimonies from witnesses brought about by plaintiff E. Jean Carroll. This includes Jessica Leeds, who testified under oath that Donald Trump molested her during a flight.
According to CNA, Leeds was called to testify during the trial by Carroll's lawyers to prove that the former president has "engaged in a pattern of sexual misconduct." In the run-up to the presidential elections in 2016, around a dozen women came forward and accused him of sexual misconduct.
During her testimony, Leeds told the jury that Trump placed his hand up her skirt while in the business class section of a flight to New York in 1978 or 1979. She stated that this happened out of the blue and without any conversation.
"He was trying to kiss me, grabbing my breasts," she added in her testimony. The 81-year-old first made that same allegation against the former president before the 2016 election, which Trump won. She went public after a presidential debate with Hillary Clinton, where Trump refuted sexual assault allegations.
"I was furious because he was lying," Leeds recalled. However, Trump still denies all sexual misconduct allegations thrown at him, including Carroll's and Leeds's.
E. Jean Carroll Called Friend After Donald Trump Allegedly Raped Her
The lawyers for E. Jean Carroll also called Lisa Birnbach, a longtime friend of the former Elle Magazine columnist, to testify before the New York jury.
According to NBC News, Birnbach stated that in 1996, Carrol called her "minutes" after she was allegedly raped by Trump inside the Bergdorf Goodman luxury department store in Manhattan. Carroll allegedly told her friend, "You're not going to believe what just happened to me," and Birnbach added that "Her voice was doing all sorts of things."

Birnbach testified that her friend sounded "breathless, hyperventilating," and "emotional." Carroll had reportedly told her that she had been shopping at the department store when she ran into Trump. He then accosted her in a dressing room and "penetrated" her.
"I said: 'Jean, he raped you. You should go to the police,' "she told the jury. However, she also claimed that Carroll did not want to go to the police and made her promise not to speak about the incident again. She kept that promise until they spoke about it again in 2019,
Donald Trump Will Not Testify in Own Rape Trial
Judge Lewis Kaplan asked lawyers from both sides for a forecast about the remainder of the case, with Trump attorney Joe Tacopina telling him that the defense only has one expert witness left.
ABC News reported that this made the judge ask Tacopina if his client, Donald Trump, was coming or not. To this, Tacopina replied that he is not coming and would not be testifying in this case.
"It's his call," the judge said. "I understand that. You understand that. He understands that."
At the start of the trial, Tacopina mentioned that Trump would decide on whether or not he would testify as the trial progressed.
