Florida Woman Arrested for Throwing Wine at Rep. Matt Gaetz
A Florida woman was charged with battery after throwing wine at Rep. Matt Gaetz (R - Florida) during a food and wine festival on Saturday in Miramar Beach, Florida.
The controversial Florida Republican accused of being a pedophile who trafficked teens across state lines was attending the South Walton Beaches Wine and Food Festival, per ABC News. This was when the woman, who was identified by police as Selena Jo Chambers, spilled her drink at Gaetz.
The woman reportedly told investigators she tripped and accidentally spilled a drink on the congressman. However, witnesses to the incident said things happened differently.
The police report stated, "Representative Gaetz said Chambers and another female had been walking past him and his family cursing at them." The congressman reportedly believes that both women recognized him and knew that he is a United States Representative.
"Blaine Odom said he was speaking with Representative Gaetz and saw Selena Chambers swearing loudly at them. Chambers was carrying a drink in her right hand. Chambers thrust the container into the air and the beverage from the drink landed on Representative Gaetz and on Odom's right shoulder," said the police report, which also stated that Chambers flipped Gaetz off, with Odom also getting soaked.
The Florida woman admitted that she had been drinking, though she might also be facing charges from Odom.

Matt Gaetz Questions Ron DeSantis' Motives on His Battles Vs. Disney
Gaetz is a known Trump supporter and defender, and his stances and political reactions have been controversial not just with Democrats but also with Republicans. With that, the Florida congressman took aim at Trump's chief Republican rival, Ron DeSantis, and his current feud with Disney.
According to Newsweek, Gaetz questioned whether DeSantis truly wanted to bring big corporations to heel or if it was part of a more cynical effort.
"The operative question in this whole saga between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Walt Disney Corporation is whether this is a true, sincere effort to crusade against corporate welfare, or whether it's just virtue signaling and professional wrestling," Gaetz said during his podcast.
Gaetz has been a very vocal critic of DeSantis as of late, even saying that he would advise the Florida governor not to run should his ally Donald Trump announce his candidacy.
Matt Gaetz Currently Working With Alexandria Ocasio Cortez on New Bill
Gaetz is surprisingly working on a bipartisan bill with leftist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez of New York.
Axios reported that Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), and Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.) introduced the Bipartisan Restoring Faith in Government Act on Tuesday, and it would ban members of Congress from trading stocks should it pass.
AOC stated that members of the House of Representatives being able to individually trade stocks "erodes the public's trust in government." She added, When Members have access to classified information, we should not be trading in the stock market on it. It's really that simple."
