The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is facing a new lawsuit, demanding the department to release the immigration records of Prince Harry to see if he lied about his drug use so he could enter the U.S.

According to Fox News, the DHS' lawsuit cited suspicions that the administration of President Joe Biden allowed the Duke of Sussex to enter the U.S. despite his admission to illegal drug use.

Drug use is usually a factor that would deny other people entry to the U.S. The Heritage Foundation filed the lawsuit on Monday, arguing that the DHS has failed to follow with previous requests for documents related to their decision to let Harry stay in the U.S.

The release of such document was requested through the Freedom of Information Act after the release of Harry's best-selling memoir "Spare." In his memoir, he admitted to using cocaine, psychedelics, and marijuana.

U.S. Visa Application of Prince Harry

The plaintiffs noted that the continued media coverage about the duke had sparked a question of whether the DHS has properly admitted Prince Harry after publicly admitting to drug offenses in the U.S. and abroad.

New York Post reported that it was also being questioned whether the duke's status in the country should be reevaluated.

Neama Rahmani said Harry should never have been granted entrance to the U.S. in the first place. Rahmani is a legal expert and former federal prosecutor.

She noted that an admission of drug use "is usually grounds for inadmissibility." Another expert argued that the duke should be in the clear as he was never criminally convicted of any drug-related charges.

The expert added that Harry did nothing to prompt DHS to investigate his status. The Heritage Foundation also noted that the issue could be beyond the case of the duke.

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, moved to Los Angeles in 2020 after deciding to step down from their royal duties.

Meghan Markle's Relationship with Father

Meghan Markle's father has once again released his opinion against his daughter. Thomas Markle Sr. told 7News Spotlight he would not let his daughter "bury" him while he is still alive.

Thomas noted that he suffered a stroke last year and was "disappointed" that the Duchess of Sussex did not reach out, The Independent reported.

He added that if Markle does not turn up for a stroke, "if that doesn't move her," he does not know what would. Thomas' statement came after Harry wrote in his tell-all memoir that his wife was "mourning the loss of her father."

In the interview, Thomas said, "She killed me and then mourned me... I refuse to be buried by her."

Markle's relationship with his father has been complicated, and it reportedly started after Thomas collaborated with the paparazzi to stage some photo shoots before Markle's wedding to Harry in 2018.

Thomas did not attend his daughter's wedding. He also leaked part of one of her daughter's private letters to a media outlet in 2018.
