Famous exes Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson reunited at the 2023 Met Gala for the first time since their breakup, and they were seen smiling and laughing together.

Many fans who saw the photos of the former couple enjoying a conversation with Usher at the Met Gala on Monday wondered if the two could still get back together and revive their romance.

A source told Us Weekly that Kim and Pete "have a lot of history between them so it was nice running into each other at the Met Gala and being able to catch up for a bit."

The insider added that the "Saturday Night Live" alum was glad they were "both very mature and handled the breakup like adults."

The source noted that the cordial breakup between Davidson and Kardashian "makes things easier" and that the Met Gala will likely not be the last time they will be in the same room together.

Based on the photos published by various media outlets, the Skims founder was seen smiling while conversing with Usher and her ex-boyfriend, while the comedian had a big grin on his face as he spoke to the reality star and the singer.

It seemed that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson would never get back together as the "King of Staten Island" actor is reportedly happy with his current girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders.

The source told Us Weekly that "things are going really well with him and Chase," adding that "it wasn't like there were any nostalgic feelings" between Pete and Kim after their Met Gala reunion.

The insider noted that Pete is "letting things unfold organically" and develop accordingly regarding his romance with Chase. The source also said Pete and Chase's relationship is "going really smoothly."

"[Pete] thinks she's [Chase] hilarious, and they have a similar sense of humor which is really attractive to [him]," the insider noted, adding that the actor "appreciates having a relationship that isn't so in the spotlight like it was with several of his exes."

The source further noted that the couple connects on many levels, and Pete is "happy with where things are" now.

Kim Kardashian, who was previously married to rapper Kanye West, ended a nine-month romance with Pete Davidson in August 2022.

Pete and Kim first made headlines while sharing an onscreen kiss on "SNL" in October 2021. Later that month, the two sparked dating rumors after they were seen and photographed holding hands on a rollercoaster at Knott's Scary Farm in Buena Park, California.

Kim made her relationship with Pete Instagram official in March 2022. But after nine months of dating, the couple had officially broken up.

Sources said the two decided to "just be friends." The insiders noted that long-distance relationship and their demanding schedules were the reasons for the breakup.

Despite having a lot of love and respect for each other, the sources said being in two distant parts of the globe proved overwhelming for Kim and Pete, which "made it really difficult to maintain a relationship."
