Jill Biden Criticized During King Charles' Coronation - Here's Why
First Lady Jill Biden was in the United Kingdom for King Charles' coronation on Saturday as a proxy for her husband, President Joe Biden.
However, conservatives condemned what she and her granddaughter wore during the ceremony as she and Finnegan Biden showed solidarity with Ukraine by wearing coordinated yellow and blue dresses to the ceremony.
Blue and yellow are the colors of the Eastern European country currently being invaded by Russia, and many Republicans were not happy and made an issue out of the show of solidarity.
These include former Donald Trump attorney Jenna Ellis, who recently admitted to lying about the 2020 elections being stolen from the former president. She noted that Jill was "disrespectful" to the United States because she wore Ukrainian colors, not American.
"Jill Biden was disrespectful to the United States and her office of First Lady by wearing the colors of the Ukraine flag with her granddaughter instead of representing our flag and our nation... First Lady Melania would have been pure elegance and patriotism," Ellis tweeted.

First Lady Melania would have been pure elegance and patriotism.
Other conservatives like Lavern Spicer echoed this.
Jill Biden is not who should be representing America abroad. https://t.co/GXEQI6k5O6

However, according to Newsweek, Democrats came to Jill's defense and called out her critics. The liberals pointed out that this showed how Republicans stand up to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a wedge to campaign against Joe Biden.
They also lauded Jill Biden for showing solidarity with Ukraine in their time of need.
Last time I checked, blue is still a color on our flag. Her granddaughter wore yellow. Being technical about it, the pair together are representing by BOTH countries.

You would think with all the troubles you have with the Bar Associations you would focus on that.
Comrade Jenna! Vladimir Putin loves your contribution to the Motherland!

Bravo!
No, she wasn't disrespectful. As a red-blooded American, I think that what she did is WONDERFUL. And how elegant is it of you to be criticizing a lady's clothing? Men seem to be able to wear whatever they want without being criticized for it.

Do you see how efficiently MAGA uses the US supporting its allies in Europe and standing up to Putin as a wedge to campaign against Biden? Do you see how closely aligned trump and Putin’s interests are? And how they have been since putin illegally helped trump take power in 2016? https://t.co/Lu6JZdzmsq

Jill Biden Reflects on King Charles' Coronation
Following the coronation ceremony, the first lady told CNN in a phone interview that King Charles' coronation made her think about "the importance of traditions, the importance of oath." She added that the moment was surreal.
"You can't imagine that moment where you actually see the crown being placed on the head of the king and then on the head of the queen... It's really surreal to see and experience that moment," she told the outlet before stressing how important the relationship is between the United States and the United Kingdom.
As for Joe Biden, he congratulated King Charles III and Queen Camilla on their coronation and also stressed how important the friendship between the two countries.
Congratulations to King Charles III and Queen Camilla on their Coronation. The enduring friendship between the U.S. and the U.K. is a source of strength for both our peoples.
