Martina Stoessel 'Violetta' Show News: Disney Star to Have Important Role in 'The Manipulator'?
Martina Stoessel is well known for playing "Violetta" on Disney, but the child actress is about to make the leap to Hollywood.
She is reportedly going to have an important role in Martin Scorsese's upcoming film "The Manipulator." The movie is slated to be released in 2016, and it will revolve around the life of Italian multimillionaire Alessandro Proto, Diario Uno noted.
Stoessel, 17, will play Proto's lover. Meanwhile, Alessandra Ambrosio will make her acting debut as Proto's wife. Channing Tatum will play Proto. There is not much more information about the film as of yet. It's not even listed as a upcoming movie for any of the actors.
This won't be Stoessel's first Hollywood role, as she voiced the Italian dubbing for Carrie Williams on "Monsters University," but it will certainly be her most visible. She has done other work in Italian, such as sing the Italian version of "Let it Go," which is called "All'Alba sorgerò." She also sang the Spanish version, "Libre Soy."
The Argentinian star recently went through a trying time when a supposed fan had threatened to slash her own wrists because the actress wouldn't follow her. It was later discovered that the picture was a fake, and Stoessel and her parents were very upset that the image kept spreading.
"I think the photo is from 2008, and the person that posted it is not really a child," she said. "But don't spread the story anymore because it's not true. I'd rather not speak about this topic. I'm very happy that my fans follow me, and that I'm doing what's best for them."
Her father was particularly upset at how this affects younger people. He said that when dealing with the youth, these lies should not be spread because it's damaging.
