Taylor Swift, Rihanna Are Richest Women in Music; Elon Musk No. 1 Again
Who are the richest women in the world? Well, Forbes finally released their list, and Taylor Swift and Rihanna top the musicians. Meanwhile, Elon Musk is the richest man in the world again.
Rihanna was named by Forbes as the richest woman in music as she made the publication's "Richest Self-Made Women" list at #20. It showed that the Barbados-born singer is now a billionaire, as she is worth $1.4 billion. Rihanna's net worth was reportedly earned not just through her music but also her various businesses, such as cosmetics and fashion.
Tay-Tay also made the list and is considered the second richest woman in music. According to TMZ, Taylor Swift's net worth is around $740 million, placing the singer at #34 on Forbes' list. The primary source of her income is music.
With her recent concert success, Taylor Swift has now surpassed Madonna, who is said to be worth $580M. She is now also richer than Beyonce, who has a reported net worth of $540M.
Other Women on Forbes' 'Richest Self-Made Women' List
The list did not just include musicians like Rihanna and Taylor Swift but also other notable women in business and tech. Topping the list is Diane Hendricks of ABC Supply. She runs a construction supply company that sells roofing, siding, and windows, and she is reportedly worth $15 billion.
Meanwhile, the richest woman in entertainment is still none other than Oprah Winfrey. The iconic host is reportedly worth $2.5 billion. This comes from her TV shows, publication, and various other businesses.
In second place on the Forbes list of "Richest Self-Made Women," is Judy Love, the chairman and CEO of Love's Travel Stops And Country Stores. She and her late husband founded the truck stop and convenience store chain Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores in 1964, and this led to her amassing wealth worth $10.2 billion.
Also named in the list are Panda Express co-founder Peggy Cherng, who is worth $3.2 billion, and YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, with a net worth of around $780 million.
Elon Musk is the Richest Man in the World Again
While Twitter is floundering, its CEO Elon Musk seems to be getting richer as he is now the world's richest person once again, beating out French luxury goods brand LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault.
According to Investopedia, the Tesla and Twitter CEO's wealth has risen to $192 billion, while Arnault's wealth dropped to $187 billion. This came after LVMH stock fell by 2.6% on Wednesday.
Tesla shares have risen 64% year-to-date, and this is one of the factors why Musk rose up the rankings. Meanwhile, the demand for luxury goods tumbled as China keeps on tanking its economy with its COVID-19 response, contributing to Musk overtaking Arnault.
