Texas man Raul Meza Jr. served time for killing an 8-year-old girl in the 1980s. Now, it turns out that he may be a serial killer after he was arrested for two more murders. However, he could have been connected to even more killings as he confessed to murdering more people.

According to the Austin American-Stateman, Meza was arrested after he called the police to confess that he killed a man in Pflugerville, Texas earlier this month, as well as the 2019 killing of a woman in Austin.

Authorities now state that Raul Meza Jr. might be a serial killer involved in as many as 10 other homicides. He was previously sentenced to 30 years after killing a child in Austin in 1982.

Police have now charged the suspected serial killer with the death of 80-year-old Jesse Fraga in Pflugerville, as well as the death of 66-year-old Gloria Lofton in Austin. The latter was killed in May 2019, and police considered her death to be suspicious.

When Mesa confessed to being the one responsible for her death, police were able to match DNA evidence from the crime scene to his, according to investigators.

When he was arrested, police reportedly found that he was carrying a backpack that had zip ties, a flashlight, duct tape, and a .22 caliber pistol that contained extra rounds inside of it.

Texas Police Investigating Up To 10 Cold Cases Possibly Connected to Suspected Texas Serial Killer

With his arrest, police are now investigating between eight and ten cold cases dating back to 1996 in connection to Meza. Austin Police Department detective Katie Conner stated in a press conference that there seemed to be no immediate connections between the victims, though all these cases "fit the circumstances" they were looking for. However, she did not mention what these circumstances are.

"Meza said he was ready and prepared to kill again and looking forward to it," added Austin PD detective Patrick Reed.

The Associated Press reported that Raul Meza Jr. only served over 10 years of his 30-year sentence as he was released on parole in 1993. He reportedly received credit for time served, with his jail time being reduced due to good behavior.

It was reported that around the time he killed and raped the girl, 8-year-old Kendra Paige, he was on parole for robbing a convenience store, as well as shooting and severely injuring a man. Meza reportedly left the man with permanent injuries.

Suspected Texas Serial Killer Raul Meza Jr.'s Eerie Confession to Police

Before he was arrested, Raul Meza Jr. was seen driving the gray Toyota Tundra that belonged to one of his victims, Jesse Fraga. He became the prime suspect in the senior citizen's death, and shortly after a warrant for his arrest was obtained by the Austin PD, he called them with a chilling message.

"My name is Raul Meza, and you're looking for me," he reportedly told Austin police during his call before finally confessing to killing Fraga, as well as Gloria Lofton. According to The New York Post, he also provided information about their deaths that was never revealed to the public.

"I got out (of prison) in 2016, I end up murdering a lady soon afterward," Meza reportedly said in his eerie phone call.
