Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Jonathan Majors, best known for his role as Kang the Conqueror, is going on trial on domestic violence charges. Now, his trial date has finally been set after he appeared in court for the first time.

According to Variety, the actor, who will still be appearing in Loki Season 2 despite the domestic violence scandal, will have his trial date set on August 3. Majors must show up in court on that date, and should he fail to appear, an arrest warrant can be issued for him within 48 hours. The judge reminded him of this, to which the actor responded that he got her "loud and clear."

Majors has so far denied any wrongdoing and his defense team argued that he was the actual victim here, and it was his alleged girlfriend at that time, who is also the one whom he attacked, Grace Jabbari, who was the true attacker.

Majors's lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, stated that she and her team have already delivered evidence to the District Attorney and it proves that Jabbari assaulted her client and not the other way around. "We strongly requested the District Attorney dismiss all charges against Mr. Majors immediately and initiate proceedings against Ms. Jabbari, holding her accountable for her crimes," the attorney wrote in her statement.

Grace Jabbari was treated at a hospital for minor head and neck injuries on the night that Majors was arrested. She claimed that the "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" actor pulled her finger, twisted her arm behind her back, struck and cut her ear, and pushed her into a vehicle during their confrontation last March. This led to his arrest though police had to let him go.

However, Majors claims that it was her who attacked, and he had to escape inside a taxi to get away from her. The driver of that taxi will be serving as one of his witnesses for the upcoming trial.

His attorneys previously presented a video of Jabbari dancing and drinking at a club after the alleged attack happened. She claimed that Majors broke her right arm, yet the video showed her holding a drink on that arm.

As for the one overseeing the case, it will fall to Judge Rachel Pauley. She wished Majors the "best of luck" as she set the trial date, according to the Associated Press.

During his court appearance, Majors appeared alongside "Shazam!" actress Meagan Good.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry also alleged that racism on the part of the NYPD officers played a part in her client's arrest. She pointed to the NYPD body camera footage as it showed Majors telling NYPD officers that he did not strike or injure Jabbari and that it was she who attacked him, not the other way around.

"They did not investigate, pursue or care," said the lawyer, even after he showed the damage the alleged victim caused to her client's face. She also pointed to more body camera footage that showed officers walking around the actor's home and not believing the apartment was his. She told Insider that in the footage, they were "making impressed faces and mumbling to each other, 'What does he do?'"

The lawyers stated that it was Majors who called 911 to help out Jabbari, though the cops still arrested him and this may be because of the cops being prejudiced because he is black.
