Madonna's highly anticipated "Celebration" tour has been postponed after the singer was hospitalized due to a severe bacterial infection, as announced by her longtime manager, Guy Oseary, on Instagram.

The tour, originally scheduled to begin in Vancouver on July 15, will be put on hold as Madonna focuses on her recovery, according to The Guardian.

Madonna was admitted to the ICU and received medical care, according to Oseary's statement. While her health is improving, she still requires ongoing treatment.

The expectation is that she will make a full recovery. Further details, including a new start date for the tour and rescheduled shows, will be shared with fans as soon as they become available.

"Madonna: The Celebration Tour," spanning 35 cities globally, was intended to be a grand retrospective of Madonna's illustrious career, showcasing her extensive music catalog from over four decades.

The tour was set to visit major cities in the United States, including Detroit, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, before embarking on an 11-date European leg, concluding in North America in January 2024.

Madonna expressed her excitement about the tour, aiming to deliver a memorable show for her dedicated fans by exploring a wide range of songs from her extensive repertoire.

The tour announcement came in January, preceding the news that a planned biopic about Madonna had been canceled.

The biopic, which had been in development since 2020 and was supposed to be directed by Madonna herself and would star Julia Garner, faced challenges and eventually met its demise.

Madonna Found Unresponsive

The pop icon was rushed to a hospital in New York City Saturday after being discovered unresponsive, according to News.com.au.

The "Material Girl" had to be intubated and remained in the ICU for at least one night.

Madonna had been dedicating herself to intense rehearsals, putting in long 12-hour days in preparation for her highly anticipated world tour, scheduled to commence in a couple of weeks, said an insider.

The source emphasized the singer's commitment: "She was strenuously rehearsing and putting in the work."

Madonna's active presence on social media, particularly on her Instagram account, indicates her rigorous preparation.

Over the past few months, she has shared glimpses of her life, diligently rehearsing for her monumental greatest hits show.

Madonna's Health

Madonna underwent hip replacement surgery following an injury she had sustained during her Madame X tour in late 2020, per PEOPLE. The injury forced her to cancel several shows on the North American leg of the tour.

Reflecting on her health journey, Madonna shared her experience during the Madame Xtra Q&A special in 2021. During the special, the music icon candidly discussed the pain she had endured and the subsequent hip replacement surgery.

She revealed that she had previously been dedicated to fitness and workouts, but the tour had caused her significant discomfort and limited mobility. Madonna described herself as a "bionic woman" due to the surgery.

Despite the challenges, Madonna emphasized the importance of mindset and determination to stay in shape.

She stated that her approach to fitness was driven by her unwavering willpower and the belief that nothing could hinder her.
