Philadelphia Shooting Suspect Arrested; Makes Wild Claim About Attack
The authorities are investigating a deadly rampage that unfolded earlier this week, wherein the Philadelphia shooting suspect reportedly claimed to be combating the city's ongoing gun violence crisis, according to Daily Mail.
Identified as 40-year-old Kimbrady Carriker, the individual donned a bulletproof vest and wielded two ghost guns, specifically an AR-15-style rifle and a handgun, while allegedly carrying out the attack.
The incident occurred within the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia, where Carriker is said to have stalked a significant area spanning several blocks.
Regrettably, seven individuals were shot, resulting in the loss of five lives.
Prompt police response led to Carriker's swift apprehension ten minutes after law enforcement arrived.
In the aftermath of his arrest, Carriker purportedly revealed to police officers that his killing spree was a misguided attempt to assist law enforcement in tackling the pervasive issue of gun violence.
Carriker believed his actions would somehow contribute to addressing the problem, emphasizing the prevalence of other individuals who engage in lethal acts, investigative sources said about his motive.
Additionally, during initial interactions with responding officers, Carriker expressed his approval of their handling of the situation.
However, during subsequent discussions with detectives, he made perplexing references to Yahweh, a Hebrew name for God, implying that divine intervention would send further assistance.

Insights into the mindset and interests of Carriker, the suspected Philadelphia mass shooter, have emerged through his Facebook page.
Carriker shared images of armed protesters attired as Black Panthers during a 2020 demonstration in Atlanta, emphasizing their exercise of both First and Second Amendment rights, as reported by CNN.
Another post featured a meme showcasing actor Wesley Snipes in two distinct roles. The first portrayed Snipes as the vampire hunter from the film "Blade," alongside the caption "Me at BLM protest."
The second depicted Snipes in the guise of the drag queen Noxeema from the movie "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar," accompanied by the caption "Me at pride."
Carriker's Facebook page also revealed religious references and posts related to prayer. In the week leading up to the tragic incident, he shared a passage from the book of Isaiah proclaiming, "I alone am the Lord, the only one who can save you."
Within his online presence, Carriker voiced grievances about what he perceived as a loss of freedom. In one post, he expressed dissatisfaction with the trade-off between personal liberties and safety, stating, "So often we accept the loss of freedoms in the name of safety. But we never feel any safer, and we never get the freedoms back."
Furthermore, on June 20, Carriker lamented the presence of crime within his community. During his neighborhood patrols, he claimed to have observed a concerning trend, noting that older individuals allegedly influenced the youth negatively, including involvement in robbery, prostitution, scams, and murder.
