BET Awards Shooting 2014: Gunman Opens Fire During Award Show Afterparty Hosted by Meek Mill, Future
Hours after the 2014 BET Awards on Sunday, a gunman opened fire at a star-studded afterparty in Los Angeles.
According to HipHollywood, there was a shooting at popular venue Supperclub around 2 a.m. Monday.
The Los Angeles Police Department said shots were fired on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue in Hollywood at a party hosted by hip-hop artists Meek Mill, T-Pain, Game, Busta Rhymes, Wale and Future. Fortunately, there were no victims or witnesses.
Although a witness told TMZ the shooter was aiming at Game's car, the LAPD said that was not the case.
One person was killed and four were injured in a shooting the night before at a BET Awards pre-party in Los Angeles.
The shooter reportedly fired several rounds at the gathering at Monalizza Restaurant and Banquet Hall, about 3 miles west of downtown, at 5:17 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said. The gunman then fled the scene.
Three people were transported to the hospital; one died en route. The other two were in stable condition, police said.
The assailant, a lone gunman, is at large, said LAPD Officer Drake Madison.
An unidentified restaurant manager said the shooting occurred on the patio and was unrelated to the restaurant.
The event itself "was like an after-party even though the awards are tonight," Madison said, according to the Los Angeles Times.
"There were a couple of parties last night, and probably there will be more after the awards tonight," Madison said.
In addition, on Saturday, a man was stabbed and wounded during a pre-show event at a Hollywood nightclub, police said.
The 14th BET Awards were held Sunday at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
