According to World Travel Guide, this former British territory's cuisine takes its inspiration from several influences, including Creole and West Indian cuisine. It also takes some influences from Chinese and other Indian dishes, as well as some Western influences.

St. Kitts and Nevis certainly has plenty of mouth-watering dishes to recommend, and we picked five of what we think is the best of them all. They include:
Goat Water
While this St. Kitts and Nevis dish does not sound as appetizing, this one is actually very good and is the favorite food for many tourists visiting the island. No, this is not literally water that comes from a goat, but rather a kind of goat stew.
According to National Geographic, this stew is thickened with flour and packed with local vegetables. These include yams, sweet potatoes, carrots, and red beans, though some variants also use breadfruit. It is usually served during lunch with some dumplings, which are known locally as droppers.
Cook-up or Pelau
This dish distinctive to St. Kitts and Nevis is a savory mix of rice, vegetables, and various types of meat like beef, salt fish, beef, and pigtail. This Caribbean rice dish is often said to be the islands' version of paella. It usually uses local pigeon peas as one of the main ingredients.

Salt Fish and Dumplings
This is the national dish of St. Kitts and Nevis and a visit to the Caribbean country would have been incomplete without trying salt fish and dumplings out. Basically, it is stewed saltfish with seasoned breadfruit and coconut dumplings. Spiced plantains are also used as one of the main ingredients and many say that this is the "real taste of St. Kitts culture."
This is known to have a distinct flavor, though National Geographic is warning that the taste is not really for everyone. Despite this, however, it remains one of the country's most popular food and there is a reason why it remains the country's national dish.
Conch Fritters
Conch are regularly found in the seas surrounding Saint Kitts and Nevis. In fact, these shellfish can be found all over the Caribbean. In St. Kitts and Nevis, these mollusks are often served as crispy and savory fritters that are hearty and often make an excellent snack, according to Away We Go.
Sugar Cake
Finally, we end with dessert, and St. Kitts sugar cakes are certainly a treat for many visitors as it is a combination of sugar, coconut, and ginger and is dyed into various colors. They are often described as crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and have been said to be quite addicting.
