Reports are saying that the Britney Spears divorce from Sam Asghari has taken a very physical turn as the two had an "explosive fight" and the "Toxic" singer "needed stitches" because of it.

Rumors of the two having marital trouble had been surfacing until they were proven to be true when Sam Asghari filed for divorce earlier this month, as previously reported by Latin Post. The actor listed July 28, 2023, as their date of separation, which is a little over a year after he married the "Popstar Princess."

The 41-year-old "Hit Me Baby One More Time" singer reportedly got physical with her 29-year-old actor husband in their fights, with Asghari accusing Spears of assaulting him while he was sleeping. For this one, however, it was Britney who was physically injured.

This reportedly was the fight that actually ended their marriage and it happened inside a London hotel room, according to Yahoo! Entertainment.

Asghari had reportedly suspected Britney Spears of cheating on him with one of her staff members. The actor also received a black eye from the pop star during one of their many fights.

However, sources close to the pop star denied Sam Asghari's allegations, with one of them telling Page Six. "There was no cheating. And he's 6 foot 2 and she's 5 foot 4, so how could she attack him?"

A recent episode of "TMZ Investigates" took a look at the fraught relationship between the estranged couple and portrayed Britney Spears to be "volatile" and "too much" for Asghari "to take."

TMZ founder and host Harvey Levin claimed in the program titled "Britney Spears: Divorce & Despair," which aired Thursday on Fox, that she and her now-estranged husband were inside a London hotel room and having an argument. It then took a bad turn when the pop star tripped and hit a coffee table cracking her head open, It was so bad that she required stitches soon after.

Neither side has publicly addressed the reporting done on the TMZ program, though both have spoken about their separation before, with Spears noting that she "was a little shocked" but "couldn't take the pain anymore." Meanwhile, Asghari wrote on Instagram, "s-t happens."

Viewers Angry With TMZ Over Britney Spears Special

TMZ itself has drawn the ire of viewers after airing its Britney Spears special. According to Yahoo! Entertainment, the program, which criticizes Spears for her mental health and ending her conservatorship, was called "pathetic, malicious, defamatory, evil."

Viewers reportedly took to social media to express their disgust after watching the TMZ special, with many calling it a "hit job" on the Grammy winner. The show mostly alluded to Britney's current troubles beginning with the end of her conservatorship, with many of the program's talking heads, including a psychologist, talking about her mental state.

"This TMZ episode on Britney Spears is f*cking pathetic. Shaming Britney Spears for anything & everything. Implying that she needs to be put back in a conservatorship because she's out of control..." said one tweet from a fan.

Another said that Britney should sue TMZ for defamation.
