Elon Musk Sued by Grimes Over Parental Rights
Grimes, the artist born as Claire Boucher, has initiated legal proceedings against her on-and-off partner, Elon Musk, in an effort to establish parental rights over their three children, according to Vulture.
Multiple sources reported that Grimes filed a petition on September 29 in San Francisco to establish a parental relationship.
Although the contents of the filing remain sealed, Grimes has refrained from seeking custody rights or child support, a common legal practice for unmarried parents.
This development comes on the heels of a recent social media post by Grimes, in which she reached out to Elon Musk's biographer, Walter Isaacson, requesting assistance in seeing her son.
Notably, Grimes was referring to their third child, Techno Mechanicus.
Following an inadvertent revelation about their youngest child, Grimes later expressed a desire to shield her children from public attention, stating, "I wish I could show you how cute little Techno is, but my priority right now is keeping my babies out of the public eye."
Elon Musk and Grimes
Grimes, 35, and Elon Musk, 52, commenced their relationship in 2018, characterized by periods of being on and off until they officially parted ways in September 2021, per Page Six.
Their first child, X Æ A-Xii, was born in May 2020, and they quietly welcomed their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl (also known as Y), via surrogate in December 2021.
In September, Walter Isaacson's biography of Elon Musk disclosed the existence of their third child, a son named Techno Mechanicus, affectionately referred to as Tau. The precise birth date of Tau remains unclear.
Elon Musk Children
Elon Musk, who is a father of 11 and has undergone three divorces, shares custody of his children with Canadian-born Justine Wilson, his college sweetheart from Queen's University in Ontario, E! Online noted.
Their first child, son Nevada Alexander, was born in 2002 but tragically passed away at the age of 10 weeks from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
The couple turned to IVF to conceive again and subsequently welcomed five more children: 19-year-old twins Vivian and Griffin and 17-year-old triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian.
Elon filed for divorce in 2008, and they currently share custody of their children.
Elon Musk and Neuralink manager Shivon Zilis decided to have children together after a conversation in which Musk expressed concerns about declining birth rates leading to human population collapse, as outlined in the biography.
Elon Musk and Zilis had twins in November 2021, although news of their births did not surface until July 2022, Business Insider reported.
Zilis, as per the biography, chose not to marry but was deeply drawn to motherhood, influenced by Musk's thoughts on demographic challenges.
Meanwhile, Elon's daughter Vivian submitted a petition in 2022 to change her full name to align with her new gender identity, expressing her desire to distance herself from her biological father in all aspects of life.
