Donald Trump has been getting consecutive bad news in his New York fraud trial as his appeal to halt the trial was denied, a former Trump Organization executive presented damning evidence, and he has also dropped his lawsuit against Judge Arthur Engoron.

An appeals court judge disagreed with Trump and ruled that the former president's New York fraud trial must continue. However, that same judge did agree that Trump could gain control of his holdings for now as the trial goes on.

This decision came after an emergency hearing on Friday afternoon, during the fifth day of the Donald Trump New York fraud trial where Judge Engoron found that the former president is liable for fraud. Engoron also ruled that Trump and his children would lose their business licenses in the state.

The appeal was made after Trump attorneys asked the state's intermediate appellate court to suspend the trial. This would prevent Judge Engoron from enforcing his ruling that revoked the Trumps's business licenses, with a court-appointed receiver being placed in charge of his various New York companies, according to the Associated Press.

Trump's lawyers were not happy with the ruling, however.

"This is a massive error. It is irreparable," lead Trump attorney Christopher Kise told Appellate Judge Peter H. Moulton. "We're not seeking a delay. We're seeking a fair trial."

The Trump attorney also argued that the ruling "will make defendants in other cases fear that their companies and properties will be seized without recourse," explaining that the ruling would harm not just Trump and his sons but also as many as 1,000 Trump Organization employees.

However, State Deputy Solicitor General Judy Vale told Judge Moulton that the New York Attorney General's Office already offered to keep the business licenses under the Trumps until after the trial. Kise acknowledged the offer but claimed that he was "worried Engoron wouldn't allow it."

"We could have resolved some of this, and we're still happy to do so," said Vale, adding that the defense's arguments were "completely meritless." "No one thinks the lights will go off at 40 Wall Street tomorrow, that's not what's happening," she stated.

Donald Trump's Lawsuit Vs. Judge Arthur Engoron Dropped

The losses keep coming for Trump, too, as the former president dropped his lawsuit against Judge Engoron. According to The Daily Beast, the move was seen as a "last-minute scramble to avert a potential unraveling of the tycoon's real estate empire."

The former president filed the lawsuit last month and accused the judge of ignoring an appeals court order. Many consider this one of his infamous delaying tactics, so when the trial went as scheduled, Trump was forced to drop it.

Trump Organization Controller Admits Ex-POTUS Included Fake Properties in His Financial Statements

Trump Organization executive Jeffrey McConney, who served as the company's controller, testified at the Donald Trump fraud trial and admitted that the ex-president was indeed taking part in fraudulent practices.

The Trump Organization executive admitted in court that he regularly included fake mansions and valued rent-stabilized apartments at market rate every time he calculated the ex-president's net worth. He valued unbuilt mansions at $35 million apiece, therefore adding $161 million to Trump's net worth. This has gone on for several years.
