WWE 2K15 Video Game News: John Cena on Cover, New Logo Featured [Watch]
When the cover of the upcoming WWE 2K15 was revealed, it was more than just John Cena that was new.
The game also featured a new logo for the WWE, Polygon noted.
Cena was revealed as the cover star on Monday night's WWE Raw. He won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the 12th time this weekend. The image was released this morning.
The previous logo was more imperfect and had a scratch effect. It was used since 1997 with a few modifications. The new logo is sleek and features the two Ws that will still feel familiar to fans. The new logo will be used for the entire WWE franchise beginning August.
"It is truly an honor and privilege to serve as the WWE 2K15 cover superstar," Cena said in a statement. "I look forward to carrying the flag for WWE 2K15 and introducing the incredible next generation of WWE gaming to the WWE Universe."
WWE games were previously published by THQ. This is the second time 2K Sports has published a WWE game since the dissolution of THQ.
On Monday night, WWE 2K teased the upcoming cover and asked fans to tune in to find out who made the cover.
It's time: Tune in to Monday Night #RAW to see who exactly will grace the cover of #WWE2K15 straight from @StephMcMahon.

The wrestler also expressed his enthusiasm on his Twitter account.
Proud to be part of @WWEGames #WWE2K15, honored to be chosen as their cover Superstar. Let's make it the best year yet! — John Cena (@JohnCena) July 1, 2014
WWE 2K15 also shared a behind-the-scenes video of the making of the cover.
In the video, he appears shirtless and flexes as a photographer takes pictures from different angles.
"I'm chosen to be the cover superstar for WWE 2k15," Cena said in the video. "Today is the first time in the 30-year history of WWE video games that we've ever done a cover shoot for the video game. And that could only mean one thing: It's going to be bigger, better and more awesome. This game is like no other. The authenticity is spot on."
The game launches on Oct. 28 in the United states and Oct. 31 internationally. It will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 320 and PlayStation 3.
