Sherika De Armas, who represented Uruguay in the Miss World competition in 2015, has tragically passed away at 26.

Local media reported that she lost her battle with cervical cancer, a fight that had lasted for two years. Friends and family have shared emotional tributes to the brunette beauty queen, per the NY Post.

Her brother, Mayk' De Armas, wrote a heartfelt message on social media, saying, "Fly high, little sister. Always and forever."

Carla Romero, the reigning Miss Uruguay, mourned the loss, stating that De Armas was "too evolved for this world" and described her as "one of the most beautiful women I have ever met in my life."

Close friend Anto Ciavaglia remembered De Armas with admiration, saying, "I remember you with that beautiful glow."

Former Miss Uruguay, Sherika De Armas

Sherika De Armas represented Uruguay in the 2015 Miss World competition held in Sanya, China, even though she didn't make it to the top 30.

However, she was praised for her "beautiful face, towering height, and charismatic personality" and was recognized as one of the promising young talents in Uruguay, SAMAA said.
