"American Horror Story" co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed another character in Season 4 of the FX series, dubbed "Freak Show."

Last week, TVLine reported that Murphy told the site about Michael Chiklis' role in the upcoming season. Season 4 marks Chiklis' first time as an "American Horror Story" regular.

"[Chiklis plays] a strong man who's married to Angela Bassett['s character]," Murphy told TVLine at the Critics Choice Awards.

In late March, Murphy said that Chiklis would play the father of Evan Peters' character and the ex-husband of Kathy Bates' character.

"He has scenes with Angela, and Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates," Murphy, who also executive produces the show, continued. "I love the part because it's really written to be quite vulnerable, which is something I think Michael does so well: the strong man who's vulnerable."

According to Murphy, Chiklis will have a lot of women to deal with during the "Freak Show."

"I'm very excited to see [him] tussle with all those great ladies, and he's really up for it, really excited about it," Murphy added.

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres on FX in October. Filming will take place in New Orleans, E! News reports. Season 4 is Lange's last; she will star as a German woman managing the last freak show in America in 1950s Jupiter, Florida. Sarah Paulson recently revealed she will portray a two-headed woman. According to TV Guide, Bates and Peters will also be freaks, in addition to Bassett, who has confirmed that she is not playing the bearded lady. Denis O'Hare has said he plays "a collector of freaks."

In an interview with BuzzSugar last week, Bates shared that there is still a lot to be done before filming for Season 4 begins.

"I know what my character looks like, but I don't know anything else about her," she explained. "In fact, I've just gone to costume fittings, and we're still developing the character. I haven't seen the script yet, and we start shooting in the middle of July, so time's a-wastin'."
