Kamala Harris Assures Joe Biden's Reelection Despite Age Concerns
In a recent Sunday night interview, Vice President Kamala Harris addressed concerns surrounding President Joe Biden's age and his potential reelection bid in 2024, per the NY Post.
CBS News' Bill Whitaker posed questions about the 80-year-old president's ability to run for a second term, suggesting that some Democratic donors had mentioned the possibility of a contested presidential race should President Biden be unable to run.
Harris responded firmly, stating, "Well, first of all, I'm not gonna engage in that hypothetical 'cause Joe Biden is very much alive and running for reelection."
She emphasized her commitment to her role and the importance of focusing on the responsibilities at hand rather than indulging in political speculation.

Kamala Harris and Joe Biden's Approval Ratings
Harris sidestepped inquiries regarding President Joe Biden's approval ratings among young voters, highlighting his initial popularity, which has seen a dip in recent months, particularly among those under 30, according to Newsweek.
The same poll revealed that Kamala Harris had a vice presidential approval rating of 41 percent, which increased to 55 percent among younger voters, who traditionally lean Democratic.
The poll, conducted from September 5-8, surveyed 2,335 US adults, including 486 individuals under the age of 30.
Despite their relative unpopularity, Harris emphasized the administration's commitment to addressing key issues such as climate change and student loan debt, highlighting the importance of connecting their policies with the concerns of the American people.
"If you poll how young people feel about the climate and the warming of our planet, it polls as one of their top concerns. When we talk about what we're doing with student loan debt, [it] polls very high.
What Are the Democrat's Priorities Ahead of the 2024 Presidential Elections
Looking ahead to the 2024 presidential elections, Vice President Harris, known for her extensive foreign diplomacy efforts, has taken on a more prominent role in addressing domestic priorities, CBS News noted.
Her policy portfolio encompasses crucial issues like reproductive rights, the root causes of migration, voting rights, and gun violence, a persistent issue in the United States.
Harris underscored the need for stricter gun control measures, particularly an assault weapons ban, as she reflected on recent mass shootings.
"We've done some of the most significant gun safety laws in 30 years, but we still need an assault weapons ban," Harris said. "It doesn't have to be this way. There was an assault weapons ban at one time. It expired. Let's renew it.
The administration has been actively working on gun safety legislation with a focus on preventing further tragic incidents.
The issue of immigration has also been a central concern, as the number of people attempting to cross the US southern border has reached record highs over the past year.
Harris emphasized the need for both short-term solutions focused on border policy and long-term efforts addressing the root causes of migration.
She called on Congress to take meaningful action instead of engaging in political gamesmanship.
The economic challenges facing the nation, including rising prices for essentials like food and housing, have been a significant concern for Americans.
Kamala Harris pointed out the administration's achievements in reducing inflation and creating millions of jobs in various sectors, all of which have contributed to substantial progress despite the initial challenges posed by the pandemic.
