Mark Meadows, Former Donald Trump Chief of Staff, Sued by Publisher Over Election Lies
All Seasons Press, which published Mark Meadows's book a few years ago, is suing the former Donald Trump White House Chief of Staff for contradicting his book's claim regarding the 2020 elections.
In the lawsuit, the publisher alleges that Meadows's own sworn testimony undermined his book, "The Chief's Chief," which claimed that the election was stolen from the former president. The former Trump White House Chief of Staff allegedly knew that Trump lost the election but continued spreading the false claim that he won and that Biden stole the election from him.
This knowledge that Trump lost and not saying it in the book was a breach of contract, according to All Season Press. It cited media reports that alleged Mark Meadows knew Trump had lost the election.
Previously, a report by ABC News revealed that Meadows took an immunity deal with prosecutors for Special Counsel Jack Smith over the federal election case. Meadows then testified before a federal grand jury and admitted that he knew Donald Trump lost and warned him of the consequences of his actions.
However, this contradicted what he wrote in "The Chief's Chief," which had the central theme of the election being stolen from Trump.
"President Trump was the true winner of the 2020 Presidential Election and that election was 'stolen' and 'rigged' with the help from 'allies in the liberal media,'" the book stated. This contradiction has damaged sales and the publisher's reputation, says All Seasons.
How Much Is All Seasons Press Seeking Vs. Mark Meadows Over His Donald Trump Election Lies?
All Seasons Publishing is now seeking $1 million in damages for lying in his memoir. In addition, the publisher also wants Meadows to pay back that $350,000 advance payment that they gave him.

According to The Daily Mail, Meadows opened one chapter in the book in all caps and wrote, "I KNEW HE DIDN'T LOSE." This is a clear contradiction to his alleged testimony in front of a federal grand jury in Washington, DC.
Meadows billed the book "as a chance to lay out the truth of what happened." However, recent court cases and revelations have since debunked what Meadows wrote in the book, which was published about a year after Trump lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden.
Publisher Raised Alarms Regarding Mark Meadows's Claims Regarding 2020 Election
In the lawsuit, the publisher raised alarms as early as December 2021, just before the book was published, noting that All Seasons contacted him regarding concerns that the book may include some "misstatements."
However, Meadows responded through his son, Blake Meadows, also a lawyer, who told the publisher, "Mr. Meadows is aware of the specious allegations that were published regarding a portion of the book which was taken out of context, and which have already been addressed by both Mr. Meadows and former President Trump in multiple press releases."
Meadows is now a co-defendant of Donald Trump in the Georgia election case and has reportedly flipped against his former boss in the federal election case. According to CBS News, he is now cooperating with investigators in exchange for immunity.
