Joe Biden Honors 2023 Stanley Cup Champion Las Vegas Golden Knights at White House
President Joe Biden hosted the Vegas Golden Knights at the White House on Monday to celebrate their 2023 Stanley Cup victory.
During the event, Biden praised Las Vegas as a top sports city, mentioning champions like the Vegas Golden Knights and the WNBA's Aces.
He even joked about the Philadelphia Eagles leaving town, teasing that he might get divorced if that happened because he's married to a Philly girl, referring to his wife Jill, Fox News reported.
Biden highlighted Vice President Kamala Harris hosting the Las Vegas Aces in September when they won back-to-back WNBA titles.
He assured the audience not to worry about the Eagles relocating to Las Vegas since the Raiders already have a home at Allegiant Stadium.
The city is also likely to welcome the Oakland Athletics soon.
Addressing the Vegas Golden Knights, Biden commended them for showcasing Vegas as a premier sports destination. The team, currently on a successful title defense, has won 12 out of 15 games.
Coach Bruce Cassidy attributed their strong start to the season to the team's continuity, making it feel like an extension of last year.

Joe Biden Thanks Las Vegas Golden Knights for Their Contributions to Their State
President Joe Biden playfully acknowledged his lower poll numbers in Nevada while expressing gratitude to the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights during a White House ceremony celebrating their 2023 Stanley Cup win, per AP.
Taking a break from global affairs, Biden commended the unlikely success of a hockey team in the desert and highlighted not only the Golden Knights' on-ice achievements but also their significant community contributions.
He specifically praised the team's support for the community in the aftermath of the tragic October 1, 2017, shooting on the Las Vegas Strip.
Addressing the players, Biden emphasized their meaningful engagement with victims' families, survivors, and first responders.
He pointed out that the championship rings themselves pay tribute to those affected by the tragedy, with the diamonds forming a star like the one on the banner raised in honor of the 58 lives lost on that fateful day.
In their private meeting with Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the players reported that political discussions were avoided.
Instead, the focus was predominantly on the team's journey to secure their first franchise title.
Joe Biden Calls VP Kamala Harris 'President' at 2023 Stanley Cup Celebration
President Biden mistakenly referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as "president" during a White House event honoring the 2023 Stanley Cup-winning Vegas Golden Knights on Monday, according to the NY Post.
Joe Biden, who is turning 81 on November 20, welcomed the hockey champions, stating, "President Harris is here to make sure we do this the right way."
This isn't the first time Biden has made this error, having done so in at least six previous public appearances.
Vice President Harris, a former California senator and state attorney general, was present at the East Room event, seated in the front row.
Biden, who is the country's oldest-ever president, is seeking a second four-year term next year. If something were to happen to Biden while in office, Harris, at 59, would assume the presidency.
Concerns about Biden's public remarks have been raised, with critics suggesting he may be experiencing mental decline.
David Axelrod, former chief strategist to President Barack Obama, expressed worries about how Joe Biden's public image may affect Democrats.
A recent New York Times poll revealed that 71% of swing-state voters believe Biden is "too old to be an effective president," while only 39% said the same of Trump.
