The relationship between Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith has been in question ever since the "Slap Heard Around the World" where the "Men in Black" star slapped Chris Rock during the Oscars. New details are emerging that Jada and Will have already broken up prior to the slap, but Jada is now claiming that she and Will are staying together.

"We're staying together forever," she told Drew Barrymore in a preview of her November 28 appearance on the "Drew Barrymore Show." She then addressed her and Will's separation, admitting, "I tried. We tried."

In her book, "Worthy," Jada Pinkett Smith admitted that she considered filing for divorce but did not pull through with it. Now, she promises that the rumored divorce will never happen.

"I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce," she previously said in an NBC News Special interview that aired on October 13. "We will work through whatever, and I just haven't been able to break that promise."

As to why she is only talking about the status of her and Will's relationship, the "Red Table Talk" host stated that they were still not yet ready, adding that they were "Still trying to figure out between the two of us how to be in partnership."

Jada Pinkett Smith also revealed that she and Will Smith spent Thanksgiving with their children together, including Will Smith's son from a previous relationship.

Jada Pinkett Smith Also Admits She Cannot Relate to Jaden and Willow Regarding Will Smith

The "Worthy" author also talked about her kids in "The Drew Barrymore Show." There, she talked about her childhood and how difficult it was growing up in an unstable home. She was basically raised alone by her mother as her father was mostly absent and battling addiction.

She says that this is the reason why she just cannot relate to her own kids, with Will, Jaden, 25, and Willow, 23, regarding their father, telling Barrymore, "I've had to learn how to listen because they are living a life that I don't know. I can relate more to the upbringing of their cousins than them necessarily because I didn't grow up in a lifestyle like that. So I've had to learn."
