'X-Men' Actor Adan Canto Cause of Death, Revealed
Mexican-American actor Adan Canto, best known for his roles in "X-Men" and "Designated Survivor," is now dead at the age of 42 years old. His cause of death has also been revealed.
According to People Magazine, the Latino actor died after "a private journey with appendiceal cancer." He had been privately diagnosed with appendiceal cancer before his death and finally lost his battle with cancer recently.
"Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever," said Adan Canto's representatives at UTA, Entertainment360, and Viewpoint in a statement. "He will be greatly missed by so many."
Canto did not just delve into acting as he was also a singer-songwriter, a director, and a producer. He directed and produced two short films, "Before Tomorrow" in 2014 and "The Shot" in 2020. He is also the lead singer of the band Del Canto, and he mainly performed in San Antonio, Texas and Mexico City.
His final social media post was back in June 2022, when he celebrated Father's Day with his wife and two children. "Happy Father's Day!" he wrote on Instagram. "I've been blessed with mine."
Warner Bros. and Fox Entertainment React to Adan Canto's Death
Adan Canto appeared in several Warner Bros. and Fox Entertainment films and TV shows. Soon after his death, the two companies also released a joint statement.
"We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Adan Canto. A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in 'The Following' more than a decade ago," said the two companies. "Most recently, he lit up the screen in 'The Cleaning Lady' with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, range, depth, and vulnerability. This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife Stephanie, their children, and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly."
As Variety noted, the actor, born in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, but grew up in Del Rio, Texas, is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two children, Roman Alder Canto and Eve Josephine Canto.

Adan Canto may be best known for playing the Vice President of the United States, Aaron Shore, in the political drama, "Designated Survivor," alongside Kiefer Sutherland. He is also known for appearing in the Marvel flick, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as the mutant, Sunspot.
He also starred in the Halle Berry-directed sports drama "Bruised," and also appeared in the 2022 action thriller "Agent Game." The actor also has acting credits in hit series like "Narcos," with his final big hit being his role as Arman Morales on the Fox crime drama "The Cleaning Lady."
