According to Elle Magazine, E! News's official X account posted the question, "At tea time, we'd love to know if Selena Gomez was really gossiping about Kylie Jenner & Timothée Chalamet at this year's #GoldenGlobes. A source sets the record straight at the link in bio."

However, it was Selena Gomez herself who replied to the post, writing, "Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that's anyone's business."

Her reply came after a source close to her denied that she and Taylor Swift were gossiping about Jenner and Chalemet, saying that the actress-singer "was absolutely not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie." That same source clarified that "never even saw or spoke to them [Jenner and Chalamet]" at the Golden Globes.

The video of the three celebrities talking to one another got fans talking, with some lip readers claiming that they found that they were gossiping about Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet after Taylor Swift was visibly shocked at what Selena Gomez whispered to her ear.

As the Latin Post previously reported, lip readers guessed that Selena Gomez was complaining that Kylie Jenner would not let her take a selfie with Chalemet, whom she was seen kissing all night during the Golden Globes. Fans are also pitting the couple against Selena Gomez, though Gomez herself has repeatedly stated that there is no beef between them and that she admires Jenner.

Timothee Chalemet Says They Have No Beef With Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift

As fans are trying to pit the new "It Couple" with TayTay and Selena, Timothee Chalemet himself clarified that they are not beefing with the "besties."

While out in Los Angeles, the "Dune" actor ran into TMZ and told the entertainment news outlet that he and Selena Gomez are "cool." He also addressed rumors that his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, was being a "mean girl" to Selena, telling TMZ that Jenner has no bad blood with the actress-singer.

Chalemet also said that he is not buying the rumors "'cause they're all good!" and reiterated that there is no "perceived lingering beef."

Fans have been pitting Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez before, with many claiming that they have been beefing because of Jenner's friendship with Hailey Bieber, who is married to Gomez's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Jenner commented on a TikTok video that speculated on the so-called beef between her and Gomez, saying, "This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."

Not long after, Selena Gomez herself chimed in, "Agreed @kyliejenner. It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!"
