An unnamed woman claimed to have had an inappropriate encounter with Michael Irvin before the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, last year, according to Fox News.
Irvin, in response, stated that the interaction was brief, public, and largely non-physical. He said the encounter occurred in the lobby, lasting approximately 45 seconds, during which they shook hands.
He emphasized his confusion over the allegations, considering the brevity and innocuous nature of the conversation.
Irvin recalled that following the encounter, he returned to his hotel after having dinner and drinks with former NFL player Michael Brooks.
After the incident, Texas Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin was sent home from his broadcasting roles with NFL Network and ESPN. He was accused of inappropriately propositioning a Marriott hotel worker, per the NY Post.
The former Dallas Cowboys receiver insisted that the interaction was fleeting and lacked inappropriate conduct.
Irvin vehemently denied any wrongdoing, characterizing the accusation as false and claiming to be unfairly targeted.
Irvin, frustrated with the delayed release of relevant video footage, filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit, eventually settled approximately seven months after the initial allegations.
Despite the challenges, Irvin has continued his career, making regular appearances on Fox Sports 1 and NFL Network, where he recently discussed the prospects of the Cowboys signing Dalvin Cook.
Attorney McCathern, citing previous occurrences, expressed confidence that the current case would be baseless, much like before.
