NBA All-Star Game: East Defeats West in Highest-Scoring All-Star Game Ever
The East All-Stars, led by Damian Lillard, won the 2024 edition of the NBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis, Indiana. The score was the highest in history, 211-186, with some of the best NBA players participating in this year's game, including multiple MVPs.
Dominican Republic national team member Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves had a massive 50-point game for the Western Conference All-Stars, but it was not enough, even with a line-up that included MVPs like Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Nikola Jokic in the roster.
James only scored 18 points, while Kevin Durant had 18. NBA champion Nikola Jokic only had 13 for the West, while Steph Curry scored 16 points. The big Dominican was the highest scorer for the night, being the only player to score 50.
However, while KAT led the West, it was Dame who led the East to victory, scoring 39 points with 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and one steal, with the East All-Stars going above 200 points, which rarely happens in any basketball game.
According to Sportskeeda, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown was not far behind from Lillard's performance with 36 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and one steal. Indiana's Tyrese Haliburton, meanwhile, had 32 points, while Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo had 23 points. Brown's Celtics teammate, Jayson Tatum, meanwhile, had 20 points on the night.
Damian Lillard Named NBA All-Star Game MVP
Lillard was read-hot tonight, hitting 11 3-point field goals to help hand the East All-Stars the massive win. His scoring also helped make history as this was the first time any team scored 200 points during the All-Star Game, according to Yahoo! Sports.

As for the game itself, the East All-Stars led much of the game, though it got a lot closer during the third quarter. The East then started pulling away from the West All-Stars on their way to scoring 211 points in the final tally.
LeBron James did not play much in the game, not starting the second half for the Western Conference. He has been hobbled by an injured right ankle before the All-Star break and confirmed, "I won't be playing the entire game tonight, for sure, I can get out there and run around with the young guys for a little bit, and then shut it down at some point to give my ankle another opportunity to rest."
LeBron James Sets NBA All-Star Game Record With 20 All-Star Game Appearances
Speaking of LeBron, the 39-year-old James has now set the record for most NBA All-Star Game appearances at 20. However, during the post-game press conference, he admitted that he is almost done with his career.
"I am a Laker, and I'm happy and been very happy being a Laker the last six years, and hopefully, it stays that way," he said. "But I don't have the answer to how long it is or which uniform I'll be in. Hopefully [it] is with the Lakers. It's a great organization, so many greats. But we'll see."
