The Two Rivers Police Department provided a crucial update on Tuesday regarding the ongoing search for 3-year-old Elijah Vue, who went missing Wisconsin boy a week ago, according to Fox6.

The FBI has now stepped in, offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to Elijah's location and return or for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for his disappearance.

Manitowoc County Crime Stoppers is also offering a $1,000 reward for any tip that aids in locating Elijah.

Expanded Search Efforts in Manitowoc County

Volunteer and law enforcement efforts to locate Elijah Vue have intensified in Manitowoc County.

Downtown Manitowoc saw volunteers going door-to-door, affixing missing Wisconsin boy posters to windows in a widespread effort to raise awareness, Fox11 noted.

Elijah's face is now prominently displayed across the region.

Volunteers emphasize the need for a broad search, considering Elijah's mother, Katrina Baur, resides in Wisconsin Dells, and the child had been entrusted to Jesse Vang in Two Rivers.

Both Baur and Vang face charges of child neglect.

Heather Huss of Manitowoc underscores the importance of widespread exposure: "Getting his face out there and the story is really important to branch out from just this area, especially considering where mom was living versus where Elijah was at the very end there."

Family and volunteers are at the forefront of community search efforts, coordinating activities from the makeshift headquarters at the Mikadow Theater in Manitowoc.

Volunteers are methodically searching areas, looking for any sign of the missing Wisconsin boy.

Huss notes the thoroughness of the search, stating, "Anything that looks out of place, anything that might help connect some of the dots for them."

While the Two Rivers Police Department leads the investigation, they continue to seek public assistance, emphasizing the significance of any information, no matter how small.

Formal Charges and Court Appearances

In a significant development, Elijah's mother, Katrina Baur, and the man he was staying with, Jesse Vang, were formally charged with child neglect on Monday, NBC Chicago reports.

Elijah Vue was last seen on February 20 at Vang's residence in Two Rivers, leading to increasing concerns about his well-being.

Baur, 31, faces one felony count of party-to-a-crime child neglect and two misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer.

She is currently held on a $15,000 cash bond. Vang, 39, is charged with one felony count of party-to-a-crime child neglect and is held on a $20,000 cash bond.

Both Baur and Vang appeared in court for their initial appearances on Monday, and preliminary hearings are scheduled for March 7, as per court records.

Public defenders represented both individuals during the hearing, with a public defender yet to be appointed for Vang.

Efforts to obtain comments from Baur's public defender regarding the charges have been made, but no response has been received as of now.

The collective efforts of law enforcement, volunteers, and the community remain focused on locating Elijah Vue, with the hope that the combined rewards and intensified search activities will yield vital information to bring the missing Wisconsin boy back home safely.
