The Republican and Democratic Parties held their primaries in Michigan on Tuesday, and the results were as many expected, with Donald Trump and Joe Biden far ahead of their nearest competition.

As for President Biden, he faced a massive protest vote launched by Arab and Muslim Americans to vote "uncommitted" in the primary to protest his policy regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict. Despite this, he still garnered around 80% of the vote, with those voting uncommitted garnering 14%. CBS News has already projected him to win the Democratic Michigan primary by a landslide.

As for Donald Trump, CBS News also projected him to win the Republican Michigan Primary. It was much closer than the Democratic race, but still a landslide victory for the embattled former president, who is winning the Republican race despite over 90 criminal charges being laid against him and his back-to-back legal defeats.

Trump received 67% of the vote, while former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley only garnered 28%. Around 3% of voters chose uncommitted in the Republican primary in Michigan.

"We win Michigan; we win the whole thing," Trump said in a statement.

He also insisted that "auto workers are with us" and blamed Democrats for having "destroyed the auto working business-the auto workers- with this new deal, and with the all-electric mandate, all those cars are going to be made in China."

This is false, as the Union of Auto Workers (UAW) endorsed Joe Biden, who pledged to support them in his second term.

Meanwhile, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer celebrated the win with a statement directed at the uncommitted protest vote.

"I appreciate every Michigander who participated and made their voice heard. Michigan is proud of its rich diversity of backgrounds, ideologies, and cultures. This is what makes us stronger and always has. We've got a stark choice in front of us between Joe Biden and Donald Trump," she said. "In Michigan, it's time to come together and go full steam ahead to November for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and we will continue getting the word out every day about what's at stake."
