Donald Trump Threatened Mike Pence Before January 6 Capitol Insurrection, Ex-President's Valet Testified
A new transcript of a testimony from a former valet to then-President Donald Trump has been released to the public, and it showed the former president threatening his vice president, Mike Pence. The testimony further validates the claims that Trump was pressuring Pence to overturn the results of the 2020 elections on January 6, 2021.
"Mike, this is a political career killer if you do this," then-President Trump told then-Vice President Pence in a phone call between the two on the morning of January 6. The testimony was given during the investigation by the House Select Committee on January 6.
The witness, an unnamed valet, has told investigators that Trump's White House staff were in chaos while the riot was happening. Many of them were running around in panic while also in disbelief that Trump did nothing but watch TV.
According to The New York Times, after the incident, Donald Trump was still angry at Mike Pence and was repeatedly saying that "Mike had let him down."
Donald Trump Unconcerned When News of a Civilian's Death During January 6 Reached Him
The Trump valet's identity remains to be classified, but that valet also testified that "Trump appeared unconcerned when he was told a civilian had been shot dead as the Capitol was stormed."
"I just remember seeing it in front of him," the valet told the House January 6 committee, saying that the then-president received the information of a civilian's death while watching the insurrection unfold on TV. "I don't remember how it got there or whatever. But there was no, like, reaction."

That civilian was later identified as Ashli Babbitt, who has become a far-right martyr. Trump even called her a "great patriot," according to The Guardian.
There were eight reported deaths that came after the events of the January 6 Capitol insurrection, including police officers who committed suicide days after the siege. Over 1,200 arrests have been made since, but Trump has continued to claim that he did nothing wrong and called the imprisoned rioters as "prisoners."
Donald Trump Attempting to Rewrite History Over January 6
Donald Trump has continued downplaying what happened during the January 6 Capitol insurrection, where his supporters stormed the Capitol while his vice president, Mike Pence, was overseeing the tabulation of the election results.
During a campaign rally in Ohio, Trump introduced a choir of convicted insurrectionists as they sang a rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner."
"Ladies and gentlemen, please rise for the horribly and unfairly treated January 6th hostages," he said as he introduced the "J6 Prison Choir." Trump has called these convicted rioters "patriots" in his rally.
In portraying the insurrectionists as "patriots," he is also painting himself as the "victim" of political persecution, no matter how compelling the evidence against him turns out to be. Trump has used the 91 indictments against him as a political rallying cry to his base, though it has proven to be unpopular with more moderate Republicans and independents.
