CONCACAF Nations League Final: USA Beats Eternal Rival Mexico Dos a Cero
As much as it has become a meme every time Team USA and Mexico face off in a match, the final of this year's CONCACAF Nations League has once again resulted in dos a cero, 2-0.
Team USA vs. Mexico has become one of the biggest rivalries in soccer. The two North American powerhouses once again met at the CONCACAF Nations League final, with Team USA coming out on top with the usual score that happens whenever these two teams meet.
This is the third time Team USA has won the CONCACAF Nations League crown, winning all three since the tournament first happened in 2021. The game was held in Arlington, Texas, and much like any USA vs. Mexico match, it also had some controversy.
The dos a cero score came from Tyler Adams and Giovanni Reyna, with Adams scoring just before halftime while Reyna scored after the hour mark of the game, according to Marca.
As for the usual controversy that happened during such a crucial rivalry game, there were actually two. The first came when referee Drew Fisher overturned a penalty for the Mexicans after Santi Gimenez was given a yellow card for faking getting hit by Antonee Robinson, hitting the deck as if he were really kicked. Meanwhile, the second incident came from Mexico fans who forced the game to be delayed after they repeatedly took up a banned gay slur chant.
Team USA and Mexico Readying for Copa America Tournament Next
With the premiere international competition for North America, the CONCACAF Nations League, already wrapped up, the eternal rivals now look to compete in a much bigger tournament to decide which is the best team in the Americas, the Copa America.

Team USA and Mexico's El Tri are considered the two best teams in North America, and their rivalry has spanned decades. However, they will be considered underdogs as they face off against South American teams at the Copa America, which the United States is hosting in June.
The two top North American teams will be split into different groups, with Team USA taking on Bolivia, Panama, and powerhouse Uruguay, while El Tri will be having a bit of an easier group as they take on Ecuador, Jamaica, and Venezuela.
Mexico National Team El Tri Now at a Crossroads
After losing again to their eternal rivals in another dos a cero score, El Tri is now at a crossroads after repeated failures on the international level, despite the team dominating other North American teams with the exception of the USMNT.
While they have impressive players like Westham's Edson Alvarez, the team has struggled since getting eliminated after the group stage of the Qatar World Cup. They may have won the Gold Cup last year but have struggled against other top-level teams, according to NBC Sports.
The team will have to pick itself up in a few upcoming friendlies in the lead-up to Copa America, including a friendly against one of the best teams in the world, Brazil.
