Donald Trump Gag Order Expanded in Hush Money Trial While Ex-POTUS Lies About Why He Had to Post Bond in Fraud Trial
Donald Trump's gag order was expanded in the New York hush money trial, while the former president once again falsely claimed that he had to post the $175 million bond so he could appeal the massive New York fraud trial judgment worth $454 million.
Justice Juan Merchan, who is overseeing Donald Trump's New York hush money trial, made it clear that the president is not allowed to attack his family, nor is he allowed to attack the family members of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. This came after Trump continued to attack Judge Merchan's daughter after he first imposed the gag order against him.
Originally, the gag order only stopped the former president from attacking court staff, potential jurors, and witnesses, as he previously did in his other cases. With Merchan's clarification, this meant that Trump was not allowed to attack the judge's daughter anymore.
By constantly attacking the judge's daughter, Donald Trump was trying to cloud whatever judgment was made in the New York hush money case where he is accused of using campaign funds to pay porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their alleged affair. With the election fast approaching, Trump is constantly trying to win in the court of public opinion rather than the court of law.
As the BBC pointed out, soon after the gag order was expanded, Trump took to Truth Social to call for Judge Merchan's removal from the case, posting, "They can talk about me, but I can't talk about them??? That sounds fair, doesn't it?"
Donald Trump has constantly claimed that Judge Merchan was a Democratic operative because his daughter, Loren Merchan, used to work with Democrats. He claimed that she was a "Rabid Trump Hater" who "admitted to having conversations with her father about me."

Donald Trump Lies About Reason He Had to Pay Bond for New York Fraud Judgment
Meanwhile, over at his fraud trial in the same state, New York, the former president was able to post the $175 million bond he needed to stop New York AG Letitia James from collecting the massive $454 million civil fraud judgment against him.
However, Trump claimed he could not appeal the judgment if he did not pay the bond. CNN fact-checked Trump again, noting that he was still allowed to appeal even if he did not pay the bond, it was just that the penalty would still be enforced. The bond ensured that be able to pay should his appeal fail.
Trump Media Auditor Warns That Donald Trump's Truth Social May Be in Danger
While Trump contends with his myriad of legal issues, his media company, Trump Media, is plunging in stock prices. Now, an auditor for the company is warning that the company's loss of over $58 million last year is raising doubts about its ability to continue.
The independent Colorado-based accounting firm, BF Borgers CPA PC, warned in a filing that Trump Media's "operating losses raise substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern."
The filing is dated March 25, the day before Trump Media (DJT) went public on Nasdaq. While it started hot, shares of the company fell more than 21% to $48.66 on Monday.
