Donald Trump just got dealt a massive blow to his defense in the classified documents case in Florida as his lawyer, Evan Corcoran, has left his legal team. To make things worse, he might become a witness against him as Trump may have lied to Corcoran and hid classified documents from him as the lawyer was trying to comply with an FBI subpoena.

Corcoran was forced to recuse himself after it came out that the former president lied to him about there being no more classified documents in Mar-a-Lago. This time, however, he is not representing the ex-POTUS anymore as he completely left the legal team.

Corcoran, who was just doing his duties as Trump's attorney, was trying to comply with the subpoena at that time and was looking for the classified documents to give up to federal authorities. However, as it turned out, Trump had his henchmen hide the classified documents elsewhere in Mar-a-Lago.

The now-former Trump attorney has been known for taking notes and voice recordings. These include his dealings with the former president and these may be important to Special Counsel Jack Smith's prosecution as these may reveal whether or not Trump misled Corcoran about his mishandling of sensitive documents that he took from the White House.

The Independent reported that Corcoran has been listed as "Trump Attorney 1" in the Mar-a-Lago indictment and his departure may cause more headache for Trump because he could be a liability for the former president as his testimony could help bring him down.

Evan Corcoran Notes Showed Donald Trump Tried Evading Subpoena for Mar-a-Lago Classified Documents

When Brian Butler, a Mar-a-Lago worker who flipped against Trump and was identified in the indictment as "Trump Employee 5," spoke with CNN, he stated that Corcoran "unknowingly helped Mr. Trump move several boxes allegedly containing classified materials to an airport while Mr. Trump was greeting federal investigators at his property in June 2022."

This is ironic as Corcoran was the lawyer who was looking for these very classified documents to give up to federal authorities so that his client, Donald Trump, would not go to jail. He reportedly searched all over Mar-a-Lago and only found a cache of 38 documents.

It was revealed in Trump's indictment that the former president even asked Corcoran if the lawyer found anything incriminating among a cache of 38 documents, even suggesting that the lawyer "pluck" them out. Despite this, Corcoran still gave those documents up, not knowing the president was hiding even more.

Donald Trump Loses Yet Another Delay Attempt for Porn Star Hush Money Trial

As Donald Trump deals with possibly having one of his top lawyers turning against him, he also tried to employ his "Delay Delay Delay" tactic to his New York porn star hush money trial and failed for the fourth straight time.

This time, in another longshot attempt to delay the historic trial, scheduled to kick off on Monday with jury selection, the former president tried to postpone his trial because of publicity about the case. This was immediately thrown out, with Judge Juan Merchan saying that that idea was "not tenable."

The former president "appears to take the position that his situation and this case are unique and that the pre-trial publicity will never subside. However, this view does not align with reality," wrote the judge in his decision.
