In a massive victory for Mexico in its War on Drugs, authorities have arrested Abraham Oseguera Cervantes, also known as "Don Rodo," a leader for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). He is also the brother of the most wanted drug kingpin in the world, CJNG leader Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, the infamous "El Mencho" himself.

Don Rodo is one of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel's top bosses and helped El Mencho run his drug empire. His arrest was described as a huge blow to the cartel's leadership as El Mencho's inner circle continues to shrink as more and more of his top lieutenants get either arrested or killed.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador confirmed the El Mencho brother's arrest during his daily press conference on Monday. He stated that the CJNG boss was arrested by Mexican authorities in the early hours of Sunday morning during an operation in the CJNG's home state of Jalisco.

According to The Daily Star, videos circulated around social media of Don Rodo being taken away by Mexican police. He was previously arrested in both the US and Mexico over drug-related charges, and he was also accused of murder in 2013. However, charges against him were dropped.

The arrested El Mencho brother was an important cog in the CJNG's operations as he was reportedly not just in charge of administrative tasks within the notorious cartel, but he also oversaw drug shipments to the US, according to several reports.

El Mencho Brother Arrested Through Joint Operation by Military and the Mexico National Guard

Abraham Oseguera, also known as Don Rodo, was considered armed and dangerous, and so were his bodyguards. It took a joint effort by the Mexican Army and the Mexico National Guard just to detain him, according to Reuters.

The operation took place in the early hours of Sunday morning in Autlan de Navarro, Jalisco. He was later found in possession of a couple of firearms and several ammunition cartridges. He was known to have operated around the area where he was arrested.

After his arrest, the CJNG leader and brother of El Mencho was later transferred by the country's Air Force to Mexico City. As a result of his arrest, the entire state of Jalisco is now on high alert for fear of retaliation from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, which is often regarded as the most violent cartel in Mexico.

Jalisco New Generation Cartel Leader El Mencho Has Massive Bounty Set by US Government

As the leader of the CJNG, El Mencho has a massive bounty on his arrest from the US government, and it is worth $10 million, making him one of the most wanted men on the planet and the most wanted drug lord on Earth.

The DEA has warned that "Fugitive may be armed and dangerous. Do not attempt to apprehend this individual" and that citizens who spot him must immediately report it to the authorities. He has been described to be around 5' 7 with black hair and brown eyes.
