Kate Middleton and Prince William Get Makeovers at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
Although the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge are idolized for their savvy sense of fashion, the people over at London's Madame Tussauds Wax Museum felt that the royal couple was in need of a fashion makeover.
E! News reports that after two years since their Madame Tussauds debut, the wax versions of Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William are now getting a glamorous revamp.
Kate Middleton and Prince William were originally made into wax figures in honor of their first wedding anniversary.
Kate's wax figure was initially decked out in her signature royal blue wrap dress that she wore for her 2010 engagement announcement.
The dress became so popular that its designer, Daniella Helayel, almost went out of business trying to cope with all the orders that were coming in for the exact dress that Kate Middleton wore.
Despite the popularity of the dress, Madame Tussauds is going for a more upscale look for Kate Middleton and Prince William.
Now, when fans come to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London, they will be greeted by Prince William and his wife in black-tie gala attire.
According to E! News, Prince Williams now sports a double-breasted Gieves and Hawkes tuxedo while Kate Middleton sports a full-length replica of the lavender Alexander McQueen gown that she wore to BAFTA's "Brits To Watch" gala in Los Angeles.
"After two years in the attraction, it seemed the perfect time to give them a glamorous makeover," said Madame Tussauds marketing manager, Matthew Clarkson, E! News reports.
According to the Daily Mail, Clarkson said that, "The Royal Family have always been the highlight of a visit for many guests to Madame Tussauds London.
Kate Middleton and Prince William's wax figures reportedly took four months to make and cost $258,000 each.
