The Michigan State House of Representatives was rocked by a scandal involving a Republican state representative and a stripper. as Michigan Republican State Rep. Neil Friske was recently arrested in Lansing.

After he was arrested, Neil Friske was soon let out of jail in Lansing, and his lawyers claimed that he had done nothing wrong, pointing out that the Michigan Republican was still considered innocent until proven guilty.

He was reportedly arrested on Windbreak Lane near a condo he owns in the city, with the stripper he chased reportedly working for the Deja Vu Showgirls strip club, which was where the incident reportedly took place.

MIRS News reported that the Republican lawmaker allegedly "chased an adult dancer after a disagreement." This led to the incident being reported to police, which eventually led to Neil Friske's arrest.

"We're just saying no comment at this time," said the establishment in a statement. Friske also declined to comment as he left the Lansing police station on Friday. It was shown that the Republican, who is known for his staunch anti-immigrant rhetoric in Michigan, may be facing charges of sexual assault, assault, and a weapons-related offense.

So far, he has not been charged yet, nor has he been arraigned. His campaign did release a statement on Facebook, saying, "As many of us know, Rep Friske is always exercising his 2nd Amendment right. We do not have any details, besides what the media sourced, oddly before anyone of us knew anything."

However, the campaign also went into conspiracy theory territory as it questioned why he was arrested for chasing a stripper with a gun, claiming that the arrest happened right before absentee ballots were released.
