Once upon a time in 2019, celebrity outlets claimed that Mexican artist Danna Paola and Brazilian soccer player Neymar were having an affair.

He kept quiet, as he usually does. She, on the other hand, said she was so indignant that she even made a song complaining that if she was seen with any man, she was already in a relationship with him. Well... it may not have been with everyone she mentions in that song called 'Mala Fama', but it turns out that the Neymar thing was true.

It all happened when Danna spent a long stint filming Netflix's mega hit 'Elite'.

While she was playing the ambivalent Lucrecia back in Las Encinas, he was suffering in Paris Saint Germain, missing his friends from Barcelona. So, whenever he could, Ney would go back to Spain.

Who did he go out with? Well, it wasn't just Messi, Luis Suarez, his best friends. Apparently, he did spend a lot of time with Danna Paola.

Why Danna Paola talked about Neymar now

Her statements took place on controversial TV show 'La Revuelta'. To give you context, the production is controversial because of the provocative and irreverent questions that host David Broncano asks his guests, and because it just moved from a private channel to the big screen of Televisión Española, one of Spain's public TV networks.

Does it matter in this case? Well, it might. Considering that Danna just told us that she lied in her statements and in her song when it comes to Neymar, who can be sure that she really let slip the little pearl of the denied romance?

But back to the margarita-caipirihna story: Danna 'escaped' the anecdote when she was asked what her favorite soccer team was
"I've learned quite a bit about soccer thanks to my boyfriend (Venezuelan producer Alex Hoyer), actually. He's very much a Madrid fan. He always plays with the Madrid shirt on," she said.

Broncano asked if she had a soccer player boyfriend and she answered yes, because she believes "that soccer players have a lot of this thing of being with actresses and singers, I feel that it is something that happens a lot. I have had my experiences. The truth is that all of them have been very good". She didn't play hard to get to confirm that she was talking about Neymar.

And why didn't it work out? "I think that in the end the profession is too demanding, mine too," she explained.

Broncano's show is costing Spanish taxpayers 14 million euros a year and is in its second week. Its competition is 'El Hormiguero', with which it has been in a historic ratings battle.

That is to say, 'La Revuelta' HAS to win the tune-in and it would not be at all strange that Broncano has asked his friends to give him a little help with juicy confessions, but at this point harmless.
