Ex-One Direction Member Liam Payne Dies in Buenos Aires
Former One Direction band member Liam Payne was found dead at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires, according to police reports.
The news, reported by major Argentine media outlets, has shocked his fans around the world. His body was discovered by police who arrived at the scene in response to reports of an aggressive man.
Who was Liam Payne?
Born on August 29, 1993, in the United Kingdom, Liam became a global star when he was chosen to be part of the band One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson.
After being in the band from 2011 to 2015, he pursued a solo career with hits like "Strip That Down," "Get Low," and "Stack It Up."
At the time of his death, he was 31 years old.
According to Alberto Crescenti, head of the Emergency Medical Attention System (SAME), Liam had a fall of about 45 feet and suffered "very serious injuries, incompatible with life."
"At 5:04 PM, through the 911 emergency line, the integrated public safety system, we were alerted to a person in an internal courtyard at the Casa Sur hotel. At 5:11 PM, a SAME team arrived on the scene and confirmed the man's death. We later found out he was a singer from a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries incompatible with life due to his fall, so we had to confirm the death. There was no possibility of resuscitation," he stated.
