Fox 'Glee' Season 6 Cast and Air Date Rumors: New Episodes Featuring Returning Cast Members, Creator Reveals
The latest reports on the TV musical series "Glee" suggest that the production of the sixth and final season of the show has been delayed. This information follows a series of off-screen drama and other hurdles that the cast has had to endure recently including the rumors about a cast member getting fired for alleged altercations with another cast member back in May. Just this week, rumors about Chris Colfer not returning for the last season also found its way around the Internet, especially on social media.
One of the show's original stars who played Kurt recently tweeted that he had been "let go" from the cast of "Glee." The 23-year-old posted the news on Twitter, adding that explanations would come shortly. Fortunately for fans, updated reports claimed that Colfer's Twitter was just hacked and that Kurt Hummel will be returning after all. A statement from Fox was also released to confirm his return for Season 6, saying that they love the star and that they are looking forward to working with him again in the upcoming season.
In other news, Lea Michele, who plays Rachel in the TV musical series, leaked that the filming of Season 6 begins in July. However, other rumors about the production strongly suggest that shooting of the episodes has in fact been delayed, possibly until September. Assistant editor Matthew Smith hinted via his Twitter account that he was looking for work between July and September. Nonetheless, he confirmed that they will be doing a full season this year. He has also revealed that the New Directioners will return to McKinley High School, their alma matter where it all started.
Denying many rumors about cast members who have been let go, the show's creator Ryan Murphy said that the final season is open to all characters who have been part of the show.
