While Americans are celebrating the USA's 238th year of independence, the U.K. and, of course, Whovians around the globe also join in the excitement as BBC's "Doctor Who" has released a new trailer for Season 8.

The new Time Lord Peter Capaldi is seen going up against a Dalek threat with the TARDIS exploding in view. Despite the teaser being short at only roughly 20 seconds, the all-time favorite series promises an exciting return in August.

The teaser highlights a voiceover that sounds like Dalek saying, "I see into your soul, Doctor!" continuing on about how he also sees beauty, divinity, and hatred. The voice is heard as the slow motion video shows the exploding TARDIS and the new Doctor Peter Capaldi on the phone as electricity surges through his newly regenerated body.

Other news about Season 8 includes Capaldi's new costume and the special appearance of Matt Smith in the premiere. There will also be a new mysterious companion named Danny Pink who will be portrayed by Samuel Anderson in a guest appearance. Keeley Hawes will be playing the villainous Ms. Delphox in an episode of "Sherlock" directed by Douglass Mackinnon and written by Steve Thompson. A mysterious role was given to Hermione Norris, while Ben Miller will be appearing again as another villain.

Although "Doctor Who" will not be present in the upcoming Comic-Con 2014, which is the peak of geek fandom celebration, Peter Capaldi accompanied by Jenna-Louise Coleman will be going to their fans in a first-of-its-kind world tour. This special tour should be more than enough even for the stars to prepare the audience for the Aug 23 premiere. As Capaldi meets the fans of the show, the only thing he probably is wishing for is that they like his portrayal of the Doctor as well. It appears that it shouldn't be a concern as there hasn't been any negative feedback about his being the Doctor so far.
