Lil Mo Has Beef With Prince: R&B Singer Threatens Legendary Pop Star
Several news outlets are reporting that R&B singer Lil Mo is enraged at legendary pop star Prince. Why? Apparently he prevented her from going to the restroom at one of his shows.
The incident occurred backstage at the 20th annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, which Prince was headlining. By most accounts, his performance was excellent, as he treated fans to several of his hits, including, "Let's Go Crazy," "Kiss," "When Doves Cry" and "1999," all before closing the show with "Purple Rain."
Lilo Mo wasn't entertained, though.
According to reports, the "Superwoman" singer had a VIP pass to the festival but apparently was stopped backstage when she tried to go use the bathroom because Prince was making his entrance to the show.
Lil Mo wasn't happy about it, and she made her opinion known on Instagram soon after, though her post has since been deleted.
It read:
"The muthaFCUKIN [sic] NOLA police just tried me and @dynamiteKO we had VIP passes to meander the whole superdome dude talmbout 'we gotta hold the walk through cuz PRINCE coming through the back' bitch wtf. I don't want to see him. I had to PEE. This industry shit is CRAZY. Erbody think they not human!!
Mannnnn.... I'm GONE."
The "Superwoman" singer also allegedly threatened to fight Prince, as reported by MediaTakeOut. She also called him out, saying that he has "no songs on the radio" and that his performance put her parents to sleep.
If her anger at Prince weren't clear enough, she made it certain with her next post, which featured an image of Kermit drinking tea and a caption in which she accused Prince of not hitting all of his notes.
Prince also took to Twitter to respond. While most of his posts have since been deleted, one remains, and it's no question whom the message is aimed at. The pop star posted a smirking pic of himself (see above), accompanied by this sting: "WINNER OF THE CAPTION THIS PICTURE THANG: 'I hope she know, none of her clothes match.'"
