Battleground is two weeks away and the card is starting to take shape. John Cena will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and Kane in a Fatal Fourway match in the main event.

Also scheduled for Battleground is a Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal with the winner set to become the new Intercontinental Champion after "Bad News" Wade Barrett was stripped of the title due to a shoulder injury he suffered in a brawl with Jack Swagger after getting tossed into the barricade prior to Money In The Bank (MITB). Barrett recently had reconstructive surgery on his shoulder as well as distal clavicle resection (the end of his collar bone was shaved off), with no timetable set for his return, according to WWE.com. Cesaro, Kofi Kingston, Damien Sandow, The Great Khali, Rob Van Dam, Dolph Ziggler, Big E, Ryback, Curtis Axel and Alberto Del Rio are all slated to be in the Battleground Battle Royal.

Chris Jericho may also have a match at Battleground, having returned to the WWE last Monday night and will likely face Bray Wyatt after he was attacked by the Wyatts on "Raw." Jericho said on his Talk Is Jericho that he wanted to return to the company in time for Wrestlemania 30 and work either with Wyatt or Daniel Bryan but the deal fell through in the end. Jericho said he received a call from the WWE on June 27 and brokered a new contract with Triple H in five minutes. Jericho went on to say that he made his surprise appearance on "Raw" by flying into Boston, drove from Boston to Hartford for the broadcast, and waited four hours in a crew bus before surprising fans. Y2J stated he will be working a full schedule including tours abroad. Jericho returns to the ring this Monday night against The Miz.

Meanwhile, Bryan, who addressed the WWE Universe about his condition while recovering from neck surgery, may need a second surgery as he told the audience during the Money In The Bank Pre-Show. Bryan is going through physical therapy but has not regained strength in one of his arms, having weakened from before he underwent surgery. Another surgical procedure may be needed, in which case Bryan will be out of action another six months.

In other WWE injury news, The Undertaker is still suffering from the effects of a concussion that he suffered in his bout against in Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 30. WrestleZone.com is reporting that 'Taker is telling friends he may not be ready in time for his annual match and will not make a decision until the end of the year if a Wrestlemania 31 appearance is in the cards for him.

The WWE has big plans for Lesnar -- who broke The Undertaker's Wrestlemania undefeated streak -- rumored to be Triple H's "Plan B" against Cena at Battleground. SEScoops.com reports that Lesnar will be scheduled to challenge Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship title at SummerSlam, which may set up a potential match against Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 31. Lesnar is also slated to appear at Night of Champions after SummerSlam, so a title reign may be in the cards for Lesnar in the near future. Other potential matches slated for SummerSlam include Wyatt against Jericho, Stephanie McMahon versus Brie Bella, and Randy Orton facing off against Reigns.

In other WWE news, Emma, who was recently arrested and charged with larceny in the 6th degree, was rehired two hours afters she was let go by the company. Emma's lawyer, Hubert Santos, told the Hartford Courant that his client had used the self-checkout machine at the store, buying $30 items worth of items but forgot to pay for the case. WWE stated that they will take "appropriate punitive action for her violation of the law" after reinstating her back to the company.
