Paul McCartney Tour & Songs: Beatles Star Resumes Tour; Couple Gets Engaged on Stage [Watch]
In May, Paul McCartney fans were devastated to learn that their idol was cancelling the rest of his "Out There" Japan tour due to a severe viral infection that caused the 72-year-old iconic singer to stay on bed rest for the next two months.
McCartney was forced to reschedule the rest of his June tour dates following his doctor's bed rest orders.
But fast forward to two months later and McCartney is back in action.
The New York Daily News reports that on Saturday, McCartney kicked off his previously cancelled tour again in Albany and had his fans on their feet for the entire three hour set that included 38 songs performed by Paul McCartney himself.
"It's great to be back," McCartney shouted out to the crowd.
McCartney fans were undoubtedly happy to see him back as well because during his concert, McCartney spotted a couple holding up a sign with a unique request for the Beatles singer.
The couple that McCartney spotted is John Dann and Claudia Rodgers, who both held signs that read, "I've got the ring and I'm 64" and "He won't marry 'til he meets you."
As per the fanatic couple's request, McCartney ushered the fanatic couple up to the stage to grant their wish.
John Dann got to meet McCartney and even got a chance to rock the mic like his idol Paul McCartney.
Time reports that McCartney handed over his microphone to Dann, and Dann led the audience in a rendition of McCartney's hit song, "When I'm Sixty-Four."
After a few lines of the song and after his wish had been granted, Dann then got down on one knee and granted his girlfriend her wish.
"Sweetheart, will you marry me, " Dan asked.
His girlfriend Claudia Rodgers responded, "Yes"
Following the on-stage proposal, McCartney and his fans burst into applause for the happy couple.
Time reports that Rodgers and Dann first met on Match.com and had been dating for eight years prior to their engagement.
"We are still basking in meeting Paul but are certainly planning on a long lifetime together," the couple told Time.
