There's been a lot of news and promo surrounding Zack Snyder's upcoming "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" film, leaving fans undoubtedly excited about the action-packed movie.

Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, Batman/Superman fans were teased with a movie poster featuring Henry Cavill as Superman, The Hollywood Life reported.

The movie poster was published on the movie's official Twitter page Thursday and had fans in awe of Cavill's transformation into the praised superhero.

The International Business Times reported that the Internet was also raving about the news that four more villains are expected to be featured in the superhero movie.

In addition to the exciting news was a rumor that left fans with question marks on their faces: "Clerks" director Kevin Smith has been hired by Warner Bros. to write and leak a fake script for the film to prevent spoilers from surfacing.

Movie Web is among the sites announcing the Kevin Smith/Warner Bros. rumor.

"Kevin Smith wrote the screenplay in conjunction with Warner Bros, with the studio purposely leaking the script to various movie bloggers and sites, helping to throw the scent off what director Zack Snyder was actually attempting to accomplish with Batman v Superman," Movie Web suggested.

Despite the claims, Kevin Smith recently said something that leaves us questioning the validity of the rumor.

According to Comicbook.com, after getting a personal invite by J.J. Abrams to visit the "Star Wars Episode VII" set, Smith revealed that the new "Batman V Superman" movie pales in comparison to "Star Wars."

Ouch.

In Smith's opinion, "Batman V Superman" gets second place to "Star Wars'" first place.

"I was ... up until then the movie I couldn't wait to see, of course, Batman Vs. Superman. Number one I love Batman. Number two I know the guy playing Batman this time, and you know [pointing to his Fat Man jersey] Fat Man. But that just took second place. Suddenly, the guy who was like, 'Yeah, Star Wars, I liked that as a kid.' That dude is now this dude, who's like, 'Star Wars still means the world to me,'" Smith said at the Neuchatel International Film Festival last weekend.

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" premieres May 6, 2016. Do you plan to see it?
